you have to let the battery run down all the way or you will use it up faster and the life of the battery will be shorter. It will only charge 90% of whatever level is low.....example, if your battery is only 50% used, it will only charge 90% of 50.....you will only have 75 - 80% charged battery. Ipods are famous for crap batteries.
The battery should last for a few hundred charges, if charged properly.
Save your money now to buy another battery soon.
