Carpinteria or Santa Barbara! The weather is never hot and nasty; it's cool and refreshing, and it's not poor and ugly looking like L.A. is.
We have plenty of cool shops here, and it's not too big or overcrowded, except when the stupid tourists come in the summer.
The scenery and the houses are all very beautiful...it's such a nice place to live, I am very lucky!

If your my mom then you already know that there's no place like home...
Anyway...I don't live there yet but San Diego is looking good these days!
'Course there are a few other choices too.
First of all So Cal is a great place to start with, so you almost can't come up with a real bad answer.
Having lived in LA for so long I really appreciate all that there is here...It's like the center of the world...anything you want is here...ANYTHING!
(of course that's both good and bad if ya know what I mean) but it's getting a little bit grimy for me and the weather in SD is practically unbeatable! (Super hot & smoggy LA summers are getting a little old with me.)
Anyway I really picked up on your great question because I am thinking of making the move to the San Diego area myself very soon. I like the laid back style of Encinitas, and Del Mar is cool too.
I'll be looking for your choice too! You seem like your very sharp! I'm interested in what you think! Thanks :)

Los Angeles. Thats where I live and its great. We have everything from the best clubs, best food, best weather best everything.
