Watch the Do it youself network and home improvement shows that will show how to do somethings yourself. You can learn basic plumbing, how to tile, recorate that sort of thing.

My friends and I have had a lot of success with what we call "boulevard shopping". Borrow a van or truck, and just drive around in good neighborhoods on the nights they put trash, or on weekends. You will be amazed to see what people throw out. You will find furniture, rugs, light fixtures, cabinets, even bathroom fixtures! A little cleanup, some paint, or simple repairs will give you great stuff for next to nothing. I got my son most of the furniture for his first apartment (2 bedrooms) this way, over about three months. We had to buy him a mattress and box spring, and some slipcovers. I made him some drapes and throw pillows. His place looks like we spent thousands of dollars. Total cost for everything, including dishes, new linens and towels, pots and pans, was around $800. Half of that was for his mattress and box spring. I also shopped at Odd Lots, Target, and Marshall's for new stuff, and hit garage sales.
Be careful with upholstered stuff--I only took sofas and chairs from people I knew, but if you inspect things carefully, you should be fine. My family has repeatedly gotten rid of sofas that were perfectly ok, but not a style or size we wanted, just by leaving them at the curb. You just don't want something with fleas, or mildewed or smelly. The wrong color is easy to fix with a slipcover, but if it's not clean, forget it.
This is also good from an environmental point for view, cos it keeps good stuff out of our landfills.

You have to shop around. Wait for sales, places that are closing down, go to auctions, go to out of town warehouses so you cut out the middleman, and barta with the sales people, if you are buying several pieces get them to knock off a few quid for you or do free delivery. If you are refurbishing the house to live in then buy the best you can afford then you won't have to replace it next year. If you are doing it up to sell, go with your head and not your heart, consentrate on the kitchen and bathroom, they are the two rooms that sell a house. Go for clean lines, nothing too fussy, keep all the walls cream, if you add colour keep it in pastle shades. Wood flooring is best on the ground floor, easy to keep clean, and you can pick up bargans with that. I've refurbished several houses and made a good profit, I'm now living in my dream house in only 4 moves in 7 years. Good luck with it.

Well there are lots of laptops around, which are really knowingly even in refurbished condition, I would say that these refurbished computers are really great. These are thoroughly checked and tested, I would say that you should check out some of the websites mentioned below which are selling these refurbished products.
