Human beings desire, nay hope, for something that could possibly explain the reason our lives seem so meaningless. The times, surroundings, culture & the founder themselves all greatly influenced the flow & adaptation of the religions we know today.
What works for some will not always align with the thoughts & feelings of the rest. Even those that call themselves Christian are divided amongst numerous groups all having a minor variation on the same play book.
Atheist are those that see science or nature as God. They use "reality" as a check against the moral dogmas of the past that they can not see to mesh with current life & situations.
No one religions is more right or wrong than another. They all have the right idea at the start: to make man a better animal than those we are supposedly superior to! What you need to do is find what feels right to you & stick with that! Never feel forced into a religion because it is worse to be fake to yourslf than it is to be fake to a god that you truly do not believe in.
Let no man make up your mind for you but be willing to follow good advice. If the advice seems wrong in some way, it probably is! Be you own person & you can never go wrong!

The other religions are simply wrong, often well-meaning, but wrong. The Judeo-Christian God is the one true God. Buddhism and Hinduism do not even make the claim of being handed down by a creator God, but are the creations of man. Muslims, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons subscribe to faiths founded by ordinary men that have used the God of the Bible as their base, but have changed the Word to suit themselves. Atheists claim not to believe in God at all, thus they are not part of a religion. Only Jesus claimed to be the Son of God and worked miracles to prove it. This is why Christianity is still strong 2,000+ years later.

Religion is man made. God is forever. And forever in you. It doesn't matter what religion you know or practice, God is God and a part of everyone.
The Gospel does not prove that these other faiths or non faiths will go to hell. Jesus taught the law strictly and made belief in Him a law so that everyone at the time of His death was guilty under the law. All had to be proven guilty so all could be saved under grace. (Romans I think somewhere) Just as Adam imputed sin unto the world, Jesus imputed righteousness.
This born again and accept into your heart to be saved is not bibleical. Jesus didn't sacrafice to give 20% of creation a chance. He is not dumb!
You are inseperable from God. No matter what.

Over time, people have held onto old superstitions and then developed religions as a means of social control.
I explain that there are so many religions because there are so many different kinds of people.
There is not one right or perfect religion. Most religious people believe in basically the same stuff. I think it's arrogant and rude to insist that any religion is better than any other and that all others will perish in "hell" or whatever it's called in other places.

You are right, If everyone believe in GOD, why so many religions? And not to forget the Athiests who reject the prescence of GOD. Well lets try and analyze who is correct and make 'Logic' and 'Science' to be the Judges.
1) Plug the wire of a TV into the socket. Dont switch it ON. leave it as it is.
My question to you, if no body switches it ON, can it switch ON by itself?
2) You are lost in a forest, there you see a house in the middle of the forest. you are certain that this house has been built by someone. you may not know who he is but you are dead sure that the house has a owner. WHY?
3)You dont see Infra-Red radiations, yet you believe its existence. you dont see the waves that are meitted while we talk, yet you can feel it. you have not seen a single galaxy yet you believe the presence of millions of galaxies. WHY?
4) You were not present when an Apple fell over Newton. And he discovered Gravity. yet you believe Newton discovered 'Gravity'. have you seen it? Yet you believe in the phenomenon called 'Gravity'.
5) Nobody knows where is the exact location of 'Mind' and the 'Soul' in the human body, yet millions accept its prescence.
If you can affirm all these without seeing them, Can not the whole of the universe be built by ALmighty GOD???
The house in the forest has to have an owner, The Gigantic universe running in precise equilibrium, without an Owner?
GOD exists and HE is only ONE
The truth is Monotheism. There is only ONE GOD. Not 2, 3 or more.
This is the truth. A small school cant exist on 2 principals. Any organization has ONE final Authority. Therefore how can the entire universe be run by 2, Trinity or more GODs???
Then, the next truth is GOD is imageless. GOD cant be compared with anything on earth. GOD cant have wife and kids. If GOD can have wife and kids and still be called GOD then we all are GODs.
The final truth is that any religion that asks you to submit yourself to GOD is 'The Real Truth'. There can be no Law greater than the Law of 'The Creater'.
Apply the 3 principals and you get Islam. Which believes in Monotheism, doesnt give any image to GOD and asks its followers to submit their will (wholeheartedly) to GOD.
You cant have your own laws. If you buy a TV. Dont you refer to the instruction manual for the TV? Or you just mess it up as you like it since you OWN it?
The body which we have is not ours. Its a ctually a gift of ALmighty GOD which we have to use it as per his guidelines.
All the rules and Laws made by Man are subject to fail as Man doesnt know whats in store for him in the future. So Bow yourself to The will of GOD... In other words Submit your will to Almighty GOD. Enter Islam which means "Peace acquired by submitting your will to ALmighty GOD (ALLAH)"

Why so many different religions? Different people at different times in history making up answers to the same questions.
If you study ancient religions, especially during the birth of civilization, you'll find a very interesting pattern: the religion of a culture tends to reflect the their attitude about the environment they live in.
It seems you have an inquiring mind. Try to keep it that way; it's an advantage.

Other groups took their traditions as they spread out. Much of the Egyptian, Roman, Greek, ect is similar. If you look at 3 brothers who became the fathers of many you might recognize them in Greek and Roman but in the Bible as well. Shem Ham and Japeth. Japeth the father of the european peoples is very similar in name to Jupiter. Most of the old religions have other ties. Great Floods being especially common.
As the groups spread ideas became jumbled. Good and evil for the most part remained.
Judaism as Jews and Christians believe was given the world of God. With prophecies of a messiah to come. Jesus came and many Jews didn't see Him as the fulfillment of the prophecy. He was asked if He was God and He said it was so. Those who did followed Him and became known as Christians.
With Buddhism he was ask if he was god and he said no. A good person but not one to worship.
Newer religions such as Islam, Moromonism, Jehovahs Witness were more ways for individuals to take advantage of Judaism or Christianity and gain power for themselves. Mohommed trully expect Christians and Jews to convert instantly. Mormons and the rest tried to add on to the Bible.
Atheists have no explanation. With all the amazing things in the world they prefer to believe it all happened. Its more likely they don't want to be responsible to anyone but themselves.

I believe that Christianity is God's most perfect way of revealing his Truth and Love for us all. But God is all-loving, all-forgiving, and all-powerful, and I believe that God has revealed Love and Truth in other forms as well. Different peoples in different cultures have different understandings of themselves, life, God, etc. God doesn't leave anyone out to dry; God just finds other ways to share with humanity. I personally believe that the God in the person of the Holy Spirit is at work in anyone who does good.

I don't explain them, I didn't create them. I can only explain something that I created or helped to create. Can I make a guess as to why they exist, sure. If you watch the world from a unbiased point of view you might come to the conclusion that thre is more than the physical reality around you, and then you might try a explain what is beyond the obivious.

Not everyone wants the same 'enlightenment', shall we say, so I believe that the many religions are just God's way of letting us choose the truth we are ready for, and allowing us to find it for ourselves rather than forcing it upon us.
