Deist. Most of them believed in natural law. And that the Creator doesn't involve itself in personal lives because the natural law is already in place.

American Civil Religion is the religion of the United States and it comes from the Purtians. The United States constitution forbiden congress of promotion a denomination, but the founding fathers were protestants. At the time of the radification of the constitution over 95% were white, protestant. Each may belong to a denomination but all follow this American Civil Religion.

Many of America's founders were deistic. They believed in the existence of a Supreme Being who created Earth but did not meddle in earthly affairs. Deists also denied the divinity of Jesus.

They were all Christians, I believe. However, they were open-minded and accepted all religions as valid. They were also Freemasons.
