agoranoia, you can believe what you want to, but the survey numbers tallied 99% believe in a place called Hell.

whoa... I think the word "hubris" applies here.

It might mean that people don't think they need to follow the Bible to be good people (which is and is not true, but a topic for another time). It might also mean that there is a prevalent belief that Baptism is an automatic "Get Out of Hell Free" card.

I wonder where that 75% think they are going.

"Once saved, always saved". My Mom and I argue over this all the time. She says because I'm not in church and following The Bible, I'm going to hell. I say no, I've been saved. She says "no sin will enter into the Kingdom". I just tell her then NOBODY will be there! We're all sinners, some are just sinners, saved by grace. I guess I fall into that 75% catagory.

I seriously doubt that 99% believe in Hell. I refuse to believe there's any American city where the people are so thoroughly brainwashed.

The deceiver, the god of this world has blinded their minds to the truth.

2 Corinthians 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. 4 In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Hmmm, if you hold a survey in CHURCHES, seems like pretty good odds that you would get those answers.

Wonder what people NOT in church feel?
