Depends how you measure win or lose...
In political terms, the USA lost the war before it started. The damage to America's prestige and influence will take a generation or two to reverse, no question. And don't forget about Afghanistan, where the search for Osama bin Laden has all but been abandoned.
In monetary terms, the USA is also losing the war. By the end of 2006, the cost will have exceeded one trillion dollars -- that's nearly 10% of the US economy, and that's money right out of your pocket, never to return as finished goods -- unless you regard spent shells, bombs and bullets as finished goods!
From a strategic perspective, the USA is winning the war simply because it's still in Iraq, and still in control of the oil -- the major reason why the Bush administration went there in the first place. And, rest assured that the USA plans to stay in Iraq until the oil runs out -- say 2050 or so. And, maybe will never leave...
From a military perspective, the insurgents are definitely winning. US forces simply cannot bring to bear the full force of American fire power upon their enemy -- there are just too many innocent civilians in the way. So, the insurgents can kill something like 3000 to 5000 Iraqis every month plus fifty or so US grunts. In contrast, the Coalition of the Kill... er, sorry, Willing probabaly kill a few hundred insurgents every month. Hence, the insurgents have a greater kill ratio and can outlast any number of personnel that the USA sends -- a war of attrition that the USA just cannot win. The Pentagon knows that, so does State, so does the White House.
This war is by far the most serious and devasting war that the USA has initiated. It's slowly bleeding the country white, in terms of dead soldiers and dead money. It's causing the USA to turn away from its democratic ideals that have been a beacon for so many oppressed people, in the past. It's causing untold grief in USA and around the world. And, as things get worse, as they will, it will slowly but surely break the back of the US economy -- and that will be catastrophic for the world economy also.
Hard times ahead...

We could "win" the war if total scorched Earth/annialation was our objective, but it's not; so we are losing. We are there now to save the Iragis from themselves and that's going to be impossible. George Bush should have seen that his father stopped short of taking over the entire country in the first Gulf War because he knew that there would be an internal/factional cival war in Irag that we could do NOTHING to stop. Daddy Bush made this reason/prediction publicly known many times 13-14 years ago but the son George didn't listen to his Dad. Daddy Bush use to be the director of the CIA so he personnally knows more about this crap than does his son. We went to Irag this time for a good reason that ended up being based on bad information. Now that we know the real deal, we are wrong to stay.

We will win;
It is estimated that 200,000 security personnel are needed to keep the country from falling into terrorist hands; and we have trained over 105,000 so far. As you can figure the training goes faster once you have the first groups trained (because they train more).
Over 75% of the country lives in relative peace; and its ignored by the media and the left which hates Bush so much they don't care if we win - they'd actually prefer we lose so they can blame Bushf or it.
After Al Zarkawi was killed we nabbed over 800 of the al queda suspects in just a few days. Coups like that are rare, but each time we bring hostilities closer to an end.
We will win this battle; we will withdraw to new bases that will probably be close to Iran once the new government of Iraq can take care of itself - probably in 2007.

What we are doing in Iraq and Afghan technically aint a war anymore. They are just operations. So as far as loosing the war. No we won that. It ended in like 2003 or something but people think just cause we have operations over there we are still at war.

The conflict in Iraq was once u . s . a . of america's punishment for electing a susceptible, uneducated guy as president (GWB). Saddam was once in basic terms the excuse to bypass. What accompanied was once the top-rated blunder ever made with the aid of an American President, specifically, invading a rustic that did no longer attack us, saying that the conflict could simplest very final a pair of months with few casualties, that the Iraq's could welcome us with open arms, and that the oil there could pay for all of it.This allowed for stupidity and cruelty now no longer obvious considering that the Vietnam war (wherein we invaded and occupied a further u . s . that did no longer attack us). We wound up helping Iran's attempt to acquire effect in Iraq, lost any legitimacy that American foreign places coverage could have had, left 250,000 thousand severely broken adult adult males to bypass lower back residing no longer waiting to artwork or have nicely-known lives. In speedy, it is going to insure the Bush's administration as lots of the eternal 5 or 4 worst in the historic previous of u . s . a . of america. It was once now no longer a victory in any journey. It was once a tragedy then and now.

We already won the war. Saddam is out of power and in custody, his sons are dead. There's a new government in place with a constitution. Right now we are in the occupation phase. Iraq will be like Korea, Japan and Germany once it calms down. there will be a permanent US military force there. The real issue is trying to decide how long we will be there overall.

America may not lose the war , given the huge amount of resources it has.An example of these are the considerable technological edge it has over its opponents.
However, history has shown that technology alone does not guarantee victory. An example is the Vietnam War.In that conflict the Americans fielded the most advanced weaponry, but the resolve of the local populace defeated them by using indigenious methods to defeat state-of-the art equipment.

We lost the moment they used 911 as an excuse to invade, played right into what the enemy wanted us to do, what a giant mess now, way worse then Veit Nam, look at all the problems Veit Nam had after 20 years later just with the mines that where left in the ground, how about the agent orange soldiers, just think about the crap that's going to come out of this thing, and your children WILL have to deal with it. Oh by the way none of what I just said makes any sense to conservative republicans.

If the public will does not collapse, we will most certainly. It will not likely be evident until some time after the fact. The real victory is a socially stable country.
Our goals were in the end realized in Vietnam, despite public sabotage. It just takes time and effort in "Earth Years", not in impatient America time.

We already won! We're just trying to establice peace till the new government can take over.
It took 8 years after WW2 before Germans stopped shooting American soldiers and peace was established. Japanese soldiers still killed American soldiers 15 years after we won over Japan! Why are people complaining about Iraq???
