I agree, if you have the money then you should get the surgery. PEOPLE don't consider givving up their children, do they? Don't give her to a shelter, or if you do give her to a no kill shelter. most people wouldn't adopt a dog with a hair lip, so one that would could come along sometime. If you give her to someone else, there's a possibilty that she could be in a worse situation, though the best way to give her up would be to give her to someone you know so that you can check up on her. You could also ask for money from family/friends who care about the dog. I know if I could I would help. :)

If you are able to keep the puppy, and care for it, then I would say get her the surgery. Otherwise, find her a loving home where someone can give her the proper care.

whichever decision would be the best for your little puppy. if you can't afford the surgery and her life would be better with the surgery, as hard as it may be, you might want to find her a new loving home. i wish you the best of luck, i know this has to be hard.
p.s. are there any type of services out there that offer help for people like you who have animals with problems???

If you have the money go for it. Some vets have payment plans. I think you should do what is best for the puppy though. If that means you give him up then do so before the condition worsens.

Follow your heart. what ever you decide will be the best answer. It is obvious that you love her, so what ever you choose to do will be the right choice for her.
You might contact the school of veterinary medicine at UCDavis and see if they can help. They were willing to help with my horse's surgery and long recovery, if i could get him there. At No fee to me.
Here is their contact information> http://www.vmth.ucdavis.edu/contact.html

Oh man, if you cant do it, give her to someone ...I would take her in an instant!!!
But call around and see if a vet will do it for you at a reduced cost, or on payments.
Please don't take her to an animal shelter .. i dont usually say this ... but in her case.... someone will take her.
Like i said ....i will take her myself. I mean it.

You DO NOT have a "teacup" ANYTHING!! NO SUCH THING!
It's "HARE"-like a rabbit!
WHY wasn't it put-down at BIRTH???
If *you* aren't prepared to PROPERLY care for it until it dies of old age, PUT IT DOWN!! Don't pawn this off on anybody else.
