This question is intended for smokers, but all are welcome to share their first reaction: So, here's a thought! You donate your pack to a social welfare agency and it gets sold for their purposes, e.g. to fund a soup kitchen. Will it work? Crazy idea?

Where I live only certain places can sell cigarettes because taxes are collected on them. I live in Anchorage, Alaska and we have no sales tax, so it may be different in places that do.

But to answer your main question, I guess I could donate a pack, but it would be easier to donate the money directly.

anything donated is good as long as it helps a cause or someone in need in the end.

Too many people don't help homeless people by giving them money because they think they will spend the money on booze or drugs. I say bulllshit, If I give $5.00 to homeless person and they buy a bottle good for them! Maybe it will help ease their suffering for one night. Nobody know's the suffering of a mentally disabled person.

Sure I would! I would also volunteer at the soup kitchen. Just 'cause I smoke don't mean I ain't got no soul!
