Your husband does not care how you decorate the bedroom. You are doing it for you. Your husband will only care about what is or is not going on in your bed. Thats a fact. So decorate it so that you like it, and then when you have the bedroom nice and pretty, take care of your husband.

Texture, Color and Smells. Those are the three most important things to think about.
Buy super soft sheets (as everyone else has suggested). A different array of pillows. Some soft and fluffy others more supportive and somewhere in between. These will come in handy during lovemaking. hehe Then on top of your bed add a textured comforter. Something that will feel great to bare skin. A fur throw or rug is a great addition.
I agree that the colors should be pure. If you can paint the walls go for it. A little bit of color there goes a long way. Stay away from pastels. They arent strong enough to invoke passion. Lots of plants bring out a mans primal instincts. Get rid of any bright, glaring lamps, but leave enough light for him to be able to see you. Candles are the best choice for soft lighting.
The smells of your bedroom should be to his preference. Take cues from his favorite perfume that you wear for him. Is it floral or musky? Lightly scatter the room with that essence. Scented candles work well or aromatherapy oils and sprays are wonderful too.
Good luck and one more thing. The best thing that you can do to make your bedroom romantic and perfect is to be in there with your loved one. Good luck and have fun.

personally, I think that having more pillows on the bed than you are going to be using while you are in it is counterproductive. It takes away time from other things that you could be doing. Using floral designs all over a room makes it very feminine. If you are trying to make it a room that a man will really like I personally would go with simple, pure colors. Red inspires passion, but pink will cool things down. you likely will not recieve any feedback for your efforts, unless your future husband is exceptionally observant, we guys just don't pay much attention to that kind of thing. I think of my room as being a refuge from the world so I like it as simple as possible. if a rooms decor is to complex it will no longer be a refuge.
when you buy sheets the best cotton that you can buy is Supima Cotton, not Pima, or egyptian. Egyptian Cotton was regarded as the best because it was long staple, but now they have imported some short staple varieties but since they are grown in egypt they are still technically "egyptian cotton". Supima cotton is a specific Long Staple variety of the cotton plant that is extremely durable. anything over 800 thread count is a rip-off, they start counting the individual threads that make up the yarns from which they weave the cloth. the number at which they start doing that may be lower but I don't remember where it is. definatly do not pay extra for something like "1000 thread count".

stick to earth tones, or you know, white, brown, champagne colors- nothing too feminine like flowers or pink all over. add a few minimal female touches and a few details he would like- like maybe a bear skin rug. if you have money for lighting, look for lights that you find romanytic but that can dim according to mood. add one or two pics of the two of you. heres some ideas to ponder:
mirrors, candles, a drop of the color red-on some accessory, invest in 600+thread count sheets or egyptian cotton sheets, super comfy pilllows, and a soft down quilt maybe. think champagne when looking for color scheme. also if you go to a bedding store, and pretend u want to buy from there, they can give you more professional ideas, also check magazines, look online, and even visit a furniture store- its worth the research if you want it perfect. that way you have all kinds of ideas and viewpoints you can "copy and paste" so to speak to your own taste. good luck!

Decorate it the way you like, and don't expect your husband to notice one way or the other. Sorry, but that's the facts.
