First off, I'm not a doctor but I've been in healthcare long enough to know a bit. Do you have the actual rubella rash? If so, best bet would be to wait for everything to clear up and your rubella count will come down on its own.

If you never had any signs/symptoms of rubella, chances are you're a 'carrier' of the disease, like when someone tests positive for tuberculosis(TB) but has no symptoms at all. If this is the case, ask your doctor if your count is low enough to be pregnant and be safe at the same time. Also ask him about any drugs used to treat only carriers, I know there are ones used for TB positive people, I'm thinking there are ones for rubella as well. Just make sure to check with yor doctor before getting pregnant, rubella can cause blindness and other birth defects in babies whose mothers have the disease and aren't treated. Hope this helped some!

From a physician: Rubella is a virus. It is spread like a common cold, through runny noses, coughing, etc. In adults, is a mild illness, and people get better in a few days. If a pregnant woman has rubella, however, it can cause infection and serious illness in the fetus. Most people have been vaccinated against rubella as kids - but not everyone has.

"Rubella IgG" is a type of protein your body produces in response to rubella virus, AND to rubella vaccine.

For most people, who have been vaccinated, a "positive rubella IgG" means they are immune to rubella, and will not contract an infection or pass it on to a fetus.

It is possible, however, that before 11/05 you had not been vaccinated against rubella, or the vaccine didn't work. In that case, the "positive rubella IgG" may have meant that you had an active rubella infection.

Because rubella is a mild, brief infection in adults, it is difficult for a doctor to know 100% whether a "positive rubella IgG" means a person is immune or infected. Typically we presume it means a person is immune, because about 90% of people have been vaccinated.

Whether you were vaccinated or infected, your "IgG" will now be positive for your whole life. The level of "IgG" may fluctuate a little - there is not a great difference between 15 and 22.

While it is most likely that you will not get infected by rubella from now on, the most important thing is to speak with your obstetrician. Only you and your obstetrician know your whole medical history. Make an appointment with him/her, and find out what he/she thinks of the lower IgG level, and whether additional testing is needed. Take care.

P.S. There is no "carrier state" for rubella. Rubella is not like TB in this way. Adults have a brief infection, then typically never get it again.

No you are not safe to get pregnancy. All of your symptoms point to crabs and/or anal warts. Do not -- I repeat -- DO NOT have any more sexual intercourse with your dog please. He finds you revolting. Why are you asking this question here anyways? We are not doctors. Talk to your doctor, or go to the hospital, you idiot. Where in the world do these people come from? Asking about their anal warts on yahoo answers. Jeez.

Maybe it's best to see a doctor and ask the exact question that you just asked.. and if you don't understand... just ask a friend that went throught this problem like yours... (^_')

You shouldnt be getting advice here, go to your doctor.
Ask him to explain all this to you.
Dont be afraid to ask questons, and if he doesnt explain it well, go to a different doctor.
