It reminds them it really is a baby not a "thing"

I never heard a pro-choice person saying they don't like ultrasound pictures. I'm sure they like their own ultrasound pictures when they, or loved ones have an ultrasound done. maybe because then they consider it to be a baby.

That said, I think every woman who goes in for an abortion should be made to see the ultraound of their child. They do one, but turn the screen away so that the woman can't see the little baby they are about to kill. I say why not make sure they are making an informed decision, and that would include hearing the heartbeat as well. I know when I had my ultrasound at 7 weeks and saw that tiny little person, and heard the heartbeat it became so much more real to me. I bet the number of abortions would go down if the women made a more informed choice.

I think you misunderstand what pro choice means to a lot of people. I could not have an abortion, personally, but I do not feel it's my right to dictate my personal opinions to others. I don't think that late-term abortion, or partial-birth abortions are acceptable, or necessary, but there could be circumstances that I don't know about. It's not a decision that most would make lightly (I know there are exceptions, there always are) and I don't feel that it should be made illegal, there would just be women being mutilated and killed in back alleys. I'm sorry if you find it offensive that I feel that a life that is already independent takes precedence over a zygote, but that's life.

You are painting too many people with a brush that doesn't suit them. I don't think that all pro-lifers bomb clinics, and harass women at planned parenthood (although, that nauseates me. I know a lot of people who have gone to get birth-control pills, or some other method of contraception, only to be harassed by people with their gruesome signs and pamphlets. Abortions are not their only business, and if someone is being responsible, and avoiding unwanted or unplanned pregnancies, they should not have their privacy violated like that. No one should.)

And, by the way, I love seeing ultrasound pictures, they always amaze me.

I am pro-choice and an ultrasound does not bother me in the least. Of courese I can't even tell what is ON the ultrasound, so maybe that makes a difference. I have also never been pregnant so maybe if I ever am that will affect if I am pro-choice or not.

Not all of us do! I am a mother of 6 and grandmother of 4 and I loved seeing all of their ultrasounds.
I also happen to be pro-choice. My choice was to have my children. But I stand by my daughter's and granddaughters' right to choose.
Melissa, you are absolutely right. Women should be shown the ultrasound screen in a abortion clinic. They need to fully understand what they are doing. Then if they choose to follow through it is with total understanding and responsibility.

whats up, 15 weeks is truly no longer that late to have an abortion, as long as that's comprehensive by a expert. Abortions are accomplished as much as 23 weeks. A 2nd trimester abortion is a greater complicated technique than a universal trimester abortion, although that's fairly risk-free. I truly have not had one myself, yet i comprehend people who've, who've healthful uteri now. that's not greater risky than giving beginning. The IUD insertion would or won't impact the bleeding placed up-abortion. some women bleed plenty after an abortion, and a few hardly in any respect. yet do be conscious that some women locate IUDs VERY uncomfortable, so in case you're experiencing an mind-blowing form of discomfort after the abortion, do no longer in basic terms chalk it as much as the technique, pass in for a followup and characteristic the IUD checked. Your physique, your decision, there are various crazies on right here, i'm happy they do no longer look to be influencing your decision. suitable of success.

I don't know, because I don't know any pro-abortion person. I do know though, pro-choice people. But that's not the same. Those are people who think that abortion may be the least traumatic solution for certain particular situations. That doesn't mean we are pro-abortion. Calling us "pro-abortion" is as dishonest as calling surgeons who perform appendectomies "pro-injury", just because you need to inflict an injury in a body to remove the appendix.

That's crap, I'm pro-choice (not abortion and i doubt anyone is actually pro abortion, just for the right to choose) and i don't mind looking at ultrasound pictures. I've so far seen my little bro's, my nephews and my best friends, so I'm not bothered by it one bit.

Why do you insist others view pictures of fetuses?

According to the Bible, abortion is not murder and a fetus is not considered a human life.

"If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life." -- Exodus 21:22-23

The above verse is the only one that mentions a penalty for causing an accidental termination of a pregnancy. It says the person at fault has to pay the husband a fine. It then goes on to mention that if the woman is harmed however, then it’s a life for a life, an eye for an eye, etc…

So the killing of a woman results in death but the killing of a fetus results in only a fine. It would seem that if the Bible considered abortion murder, then the penalty for killing a fetus should also be death?

God sometimes approves of killing fetuses (Old Testament).

"Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts." -- Hosea 9:14

"Yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb." -- Hosea 9:16

"Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up." -- Hosea 13:16

Abortion Counseling Centers
Usually the only "service" offered is anti-abortion counseling, and most such centers have no medically trained or medically supervised personnel.

They offer free pregnancy tests but give ambiguous answers about the results. In fact, the Pearson Foundation manual, HOW TO START AND OPERATE YOUR OWN PROLIFE OUTREACH CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTER, urges anti-abortion counselors to give deceptive answers. For example, it cautions, "Do not tell the client that she is or is not pregnant." Instead, counselors are advised to only say whether test results are positive or negative. In California, two weeks after a woman was led to believe by an anti-abortion counseling center that she was not pregnant, she had to undergo emergency surgery and could have died when her undiagnosed tubal pregnancy burst. On the other hand, women who are not pregnant are often led to believe they are pregnant so they will be more available for anti-abortion indoctrination.

They show shocking and deceptive films or slide shows that include pictures of mutilated fetuses and stillborn babies; the testimony of distraught women who claim that abortion caused them emotional disturbances and physical ailments; and distorted statistics about the medical and psychological consequences of abortion. Such films are shown as part of a half-hour "counseling" session which takes place while waiting for pregnancy test results results, which should be available within three minutes.

They attempt to induce guilt by engaging women in discussions about their religious views and beliefs.

They refuse or fail to provide contraceptive information. The Pearson Foundation manual explicitly instructs counselors "never to counsel or refer for artificial contraceptives or sterilization." In fact, they advise unmarried women to abstain from sex, presenting abstinence as the only way to avoid further unwanted pregnancies.

They make exaggerated promises of financial assistance, medical treatment, prenatal and postpartum care, adoption or child-care arrangements, and/or psychological counseling all in an effort to induce women to carry their pregnancies to term.

Some centers have been reported to go beyond abortion prevention as far as harassing a woman for months after she obtains her abortion. Some go to the length of informing the woman's parents or employers and make threatening, latenight phone calls. They have called women on the date they would have delivered to point out their babies would have been born on that day. They then tell these women that they are baby-killers.
