Christians have defined the world for a thousand years, so, yes it is a threat.
The very nature of Christianity is 'convert or die'. Either Christians will save your soul through conversion, or we'll put you to the sword.
Just because American Christians don't have long memories, doesn't mean that the rest of the world doesn't. The indigenous peoples of the New World remember the Conquistadors, the Pilgrims, and the Missionaries. To oppose these groups meant death, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Old World inhabitants remember the Crusades, and the Inquisition.
If your 'belief system' doesn't include these philosophies, then you are distinguishing yourself from your own roots. Unfortunately, others do not feel that you can do that. Either you believe what the Popes of the Middle ages believed, or you do not follow christian doctrine.
Religion does not change. If the Bible says the Earth is flat, then you either believe it or you are not a Christian. Religion is not open to your feeble interpretation.
If your beliefs are attacked, it is because of your hypocrisy. If you are a Christian, the witches were guilty and deserved to be hanged. Their judges were Christians, too.

Generally, most people have a very difficult time accepting the TRUTH. Our biased Media does an exceptional job of attacking Christianity and rarely says anything about the other religions (I would suggest that this is due to Political Correctness). The movies, television, etc. denigrates Christianity by using God's and Jesus' names in vain. Do people perceive Christianity as a threat? Sadly to say, Yes.

Judaism is the most persecuted religion in the world.
BUT, here Christianity is the majority... so you are going to notice more attacks against Christianity because of that. If you lived where Islam was the majority, you would see more attacks against Islam than any other religion.

Perhaps it is the law of return. Buddhists and other esoteric religions seldom attack other people's religious beliefs. I realize that not all Christians attack other religious beliefs, but many do. I think there is a correlation between how often a particular religion attacks others and how often it gets attacked by others.

Christianity, NO some religions that assert themselves to be Christian - confident truthfully there's a team it particularly is especially committed to merchandising gay pedophilia. This team makes up only a small minority of the LGBT community. would that's truthful to declare that absolutely everyone interior the LGBT community have been pedophiles and promoted baby molestation in accordance with this one small team NAMBLA? If no longer they why do you portray all Christians with a similar generalization based on the words and behaviour of a minority?

Christianity is attacked because we are a threat and a three strong cord that cannot be broken such as Father,Son and Holy Spirit or where two or more are gather in Jesus name He is in the midst. We are a strong and mighty because of our faith in God. People fear those that know God. God loves those who reverence him.

Organized religion including Christianity has been known throughout history to torture and kill people in the name of religion towards people who did not agree with it. It has also been used to control people through spiritual beliefs and scare tactics like burning in hell, and the seemingly impossible hopes of heaven. I am not personally attacking Christians, I am want to just let you know that organized religion controls people so much that they are limiting peoples abilities to reach their full spiritual potential. people should work towards their spirituality and escape the boundaries of this suppressing faith in most church leaders that are taking advantage of them.
this is no personal offense towards you, but you must be a christian. all religions have been put down, just realize that you have an opportunity to rise above it.
blessed be.

christianity is more widely known internationaly, and is pushed upon so many people. When a religion is pushed on to someone, they start to get defensive and attack whatever is offending, harming, annoying them. Christians can't seem to accept that god is not the best source of "light" for everyone.

From what I have seen, it would be because they put themselves out there more. They talk about their religion more and seem to want to convert everyone to their way of thinking. But they aren't the most attacked religion.

Because it is the most widely spread, far reaching religion. The Bible is the best selling book in the world. Satan uses everything in his power to get people to fear and doubt. So stand up for Jesus, and don't let anyone drag you down!! Amen :)
