I have a friend, her best friend(dog) died. I need to give him an advice so that he can work it out.

Well, a pet is a companion unlike any other, they don't gossip, they don't lie, nor deceive you, they will always love you for who you are not for what you should be and only show compassion no hate (most), so in my eyes it would be a dog. Dogs can give you a therapy of serenity no one else can, because they offer a type of love that is deep.

Both have there own significance, and that is why we have both of them.
A best friend(person) is someone you could discuss your stuff with, love life, career, office problem so as to get a response that is understanding as well as can guide you o what is the best thing that can be done.
A dog on the other hand gives you all the amount of unconditional love that you can ask for.
You cant replace either

Dog's more important. Never criticize, never talk behind your back, never leave you for another best friend, always with you, listens and gives you all their attention.

Theres a time and a place for everything. Sometimes- like in this case- the best thing you can do is say "I'm sorry, you have my sympathy and empathay" and just let him speak- or NOT let him speak, depending on his attitude.

no comparison. each fulfills a need in a person that the other can't. the loss of either will still be very painful. you can say all the good words but the person themselves has to deal with the loss.

a best friend dog, way more loyal and will not stab u in the back. however, the loss of human life is way more devestating. my answer is the loss of the person.

a person can giv u advice but a dog cant.
a person can go clubbing wit u a dog cant.
a person can help u wit u work a dog cant.
tell him tt the dog is not everything and everybody's pet wil die eventually. jus a matter of now or then.
