Both - it is a neccesity for a quality and productive life; and therefore a right in a civilzed society. But a privelege because not all people have the opportunity to have one.
Good question.

I think higher education is a privilege and not a right, but I also think that any US citizen has the ability to receive any education beyond high school that they wish to get. College is very hard and very expensive, but if you put your mind to it, you can do anything.

It depends how you perceive it....In my own opinion, it is a right...We are brainwashed that we need an education to do great things in life...put it that way...You basically go to school to follow the system and our governments, that drop bombs and kill thousands of innocent human...So...is school a privilege or a right?

I think education is a right, but if you have morons in a classrrom who don't let other people learn, then it becomes a privilege.

Education is a right! If it ain't where you live, then it should be changed so it is a right.
It's not a right if you have to get indebted ten of thousands to go to school like in US. Education should be free!

It's a right up to a certain point. Everyone should have the basic, ie through high school. After that it's up to the individual to take steps to further themselves.

It should be a right, but I don't see how it is when it's not free. If it were a right, then I would not have been in the "your screwed middle class" and unable to afford it right after highschool. I had to wait until I could afford to go.
