I suggest bring your own, rathe than the expense of renting something others have had in their mouth.
If you go to Maui, you gotta do the downhill bike ride. I don't recommend the sunrise one because you have to get up at 3:00 AM to get started up the mountain and its cold up there that early. If you are a romantic do it, but otherwise no. There are different bike companies and some don't take you all the way to the top, and some don't guide you back down. You can come down by yourself, there's only one road with just a little traffic, but if you are squeamish about riding in the street, a company that accompanies you down will help watch the traffic for you. I have been twice and prefer Maui Downhill to the others. These companies have web sites They will pick you up at your hotel, take you to their shop to pick out a wet-suit (for the cold and mist/rain shower maybe) and gloves and helmet; then take you up the mountain; then follow your group down so they can block traffic for your ride; then afterwards take you back to your hotel. Expect this activity to take 75-80% or more of the day.
Also in Maui, The Road to Hana is a great drive (you need a rental car). It’s a 30 mile winding road that takes 4 hours to drive. Its like driving through the jungle; has a bunch of one lane bridges. Then drive through Hana to the Seven-Pools attraction and go for a swim.

Rent it there, but not at the hotel. Only about a mile away at the most in Napili is Snorkel Bob's next to the small grocery store off the lower road 1/2 block from the beach. EZ to find & cheapest.Kapalua Grill & Bar, by the tennis courts & on the 18th green right by the villas is excellent for lunch & dinner & reasonable prices & fantastic views. You can drive North from Kapalua for miles, very scenic. Right in front of the Ritz Carlton, which is next to Kapalua, is a great beach, you can walk on the rocks & go around to the next bay & end up by the golf course (be careful, some other couple might have beat you there) Honolua Bay which is 2 bays north& Slaughterhouse, (you'll see the cars parked on the side of the road, then you walk down the trail, those 2 bays are a fish reserve, you can even drive 2 different ways to Honolua Bay. During the winter the waves get 10-20 ft. but summertime the snorkeling is good,. I always liked taking a day cruise from Lahaina or Kaanapali on a sailboat into the bay, they supply lunch & beverages & all boat cruises supply their own snorkeling eqipment.Learn to SCUBA dive. Many hotels will teach nyou in the pool first B4 taking you out in the ocean.Go speed sailing on a catamaran or a sloop, the winds on Maui are so good the America's Cup crews train there. Buy it at Costco. You don't have to worry about returning it and it's new and inexpensive. Costco is right at the airport. Stop in there before you head up to Lahaina side. Beach towels were there to. If you need further assistance then email me. I'll be in Costco tomorrow and I can get prices for you if you want.
Aloha
