If you think being gay is a choice, then you must have have had that option yourself, and chosen to be straight (if you're in fact straight). It must have been an important decision; surely you remember it?

Those crazy gays, choosing to be gay, just to piss off all of the religious people, have no rights, constantly be badgered, and possibly get hurt in hate crimes.

It's not a choice. The society shows you how to be straight. Since when you are young, your mother buy you pink clothes for girls, blue for boys because that's the colour for someone straight. As you grow up you see dolls are for girls, cars for boys and if as a male child you change your mind and say no I want a doll, someone will say dolls are for girls.
Being straight isn't really a choice. It's what other people say is correct to be. Being gay is not a choice either. Early or late people discover their sexuality no matter if all their life, their teachings are suppose to be straight.

Of course I do! Every straight guy has had a homosexual thought or two while going through puberty (everyone is courious). It is simply that the majority of us didn't dwell on it very long, nor did we carry it out.

We had hetrosexual thoughts too, so we decided to dwell on those thoughts, since we were told that these thoughts were "normal", and thus OK to think about.

A habit is formed when you choose which of those fleeting thoughts that crossed your mind that you wish to dwell on (like the cute girl sitting actross the row), and which ones that you don't.

And now you will be told how silly you are for stating such a thing. I've asked before if you get to choose who you love. If you chose to love your mom (as if these things had such options). I have been told before, though, that they did indeed Choose to love the people they loved. That it was a choice. Some people have a strange fear of allowing emotions to be a part of their life. Yet, use emotion to get at other people... Fear for example.

Logic dictates that if we are born male and female (as nature is the law) for paired mates then anything that deviates from the male-female relationship is a choice.

MATES being the operative word. Men and men can not mate for reproduction. Women and Women can not mate for reproduction.

Put my check in the mail - my fees are not cheap, unlike this question. :-)

Dude, if it was a choice I would totally have been Gay. No kids, no trying to understand women. No B.S. on dates. I guess that's why Gay means happy.

an article about the possibility of homosexuality being genetic. Also, an experiment was done with mice to see if certain behavioral characteristics could be passed on (in this case aggression). they found that aggression, and most likely many other non-physical traits, are linked genetically.

my best friend came out to me after we had been sleeping together for a year. it was really hard for her, but she just wanted the right to marry and was tired of being so stylish. my sister tried to come out but realized it was only a phase and is back to normal and madly in love with a great grrl!
