Well for one thing usually when a woman flirts, she is looking mostly for someone to just justify to her that she is beautiful or attractive in some way. Most married men and women flirt because it feels more 'honest' or arousing (ego boost) when someone other than your spouse finds you sexy and flirts back.

However, most MEN flirt and are looking to get sex out of it, where women often do not want sex from the flirting, they just want to feel young, pretty, or need an emotional boost of some kind.

Which is why married women openly flirt and married men just tend to do it in private (because women know they aren't going to take it further, where as the man KNOWS what he's after and doesn't wish to get busted.)

Of course there is always the exception to either gender.

Married women hit on guys because they need to know that men still find them attractive. Guys do the same thing. It is for are own peace of mind that whenwe got married we didn't lose our sex appeal. We just need to feel beautiful.

I am guilty of this and all I can say is at the time I wanted to feel wanted and he was hot.I'm ashamed of my self for some of the things I've done and this is one of them,obviously I didn't care enough of my husband so we resolved the marriage.By the way he was guilty of asking other women out so it goes both ways,why do men do it?

They are not happy with themself, so they are looking for happness.
One will not find happness without finding it within themself 1st.

the same reason married men hit on single females - they need their ego stroked or else they are unhappy in their marriage. my take is this...anyone who is unhappy in their marriage and doesn't have the balls to work on it or get out of it isn't worth much. when a married man hits on me, i tell him i'm insulted that he thinks i'd sink low enough to eat off someone else's plate.

I am wondering why men with girlfriends like to do the same thing??? Flirt with girls and sometimes in front of their girlfriend. Either situation, it is sick, disgusting, and VERY disrespectful to the significant other!!!
