First really appreciate your eagerness to learn Hindi. Hindi is very easy language to learn. In fact till now this is the only language which I have come across where it is written exactly as spoken so no more hidden words or different proununciation in context. There are two things to start - There are 12 vowels and 33 consonants and there are 3 mixed consonants which are also used as main consonants. Then every consonant have 12 forms (mixing each one which each vowels). Though looks complicated but all these are having a set pattern so once you learn 12 vowels and 33+3 consonants and one set of combination, you can make out all others.

In Hindi words are separated from verbs and original word do not change forms because of verb, gender or else, instead preposition are changed to give that effect.

These days you can learn how to speak Hindi over the internet. Check out this online course, it's voted as the best Hindi online course of all time: http://www.rocketlearner.com/hindi The course is very easy to follow, I was able to learn Hindi in just 3 months.

I live in New York City, I wanted to go to a Hindi language teacher but that would have cost me over $800 per month. Good thing with this internet, $800 it's a lot of money for me.
