Its not about how long, its about doing it everyday, 30 minutes, that would be just fine.

Well you shouldn't really walk to lose weight. If you want to lose it fast then you would have to fun/jog actually. But you should go for a three mile walk/run/jog. I live in Minnesota and I have Phalen Lake (Which is 3 miles all around) so i go there everyday to jog around.
You should eat 5 small servings a day instead of 3 regular servings a day. Or eat Subway, that's the best fast food to eat.
It also all depends on how much weight you need to loose as well. If yo only need to loose a few pounds then you will need to walk only a few miles a day. If you need to lose alot! Then you should jog--Not Walk-- but make sure your heart rate is not too high.

Stay away from any type of sodas and sweet juices. Try to drink Gatorade or plain water (5to6 cups a day). Eat less carbs (Bread , cookies, cakes...). Try to eat at least 3 square meals a day (do not eat anything past 8:00pm.). Eat green veggies, beans, whole wheat bread or brown rice, chicken or fish.
As far as walking I would start off with a mile or two (try not to walk up hills too much. It could kill the knees.) the first week. On the Second week try to add one more mile. Try to add a mile every new week.

Start out slow and walk about 30 mins after a few days increase it 10 mins at a time , till you are walking 1 hr or more . Don't eat fried , white bread ,sweets , eat a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits . Don't eat after 7:00 at night , drink lots of water , no pop . Eat at least 3 to 4 small meals a day and get enough sleep at night . Good luck and let me know how you do . .

You should make walking or some kind of an aerobic exercise a life long activity.
Walk at least 20 minutes a day and work up to at least 30 minutes a day. Once you are in shape you might want to ad a little speed to it or try jogging or aerobics.
Stay away from junk foods.....donuts, snack cakes, Mc Donalds.
Eat plenty of fruits and veggies and drink plenty of water not sodas or power ades.

If you want to lose weight, walk 30 minutes everyday. Do not eat junk food or drink soft drinks. Eat more vegetables and fruit and you should slim down. I started doing this a month ago and I've already lost 4.5 kgs.

I lost nearly 15 pounds (roughly within 2 months) just from walking! I walked about 30 minutes to an hour a day, just around the block or in the park. You don't have to power walk, but don't stroll either.
Avoid food high in saturated fats, fried foods, and soda (diet too!) or a lot of sugar! Stick to lots of dark, colorful veggies and fruits, lean meats, poultry and fish and low carb foods.

walking isnt effective, at 68 KGs you really shouldn't loose weight. but if you really want to you should jog or run. 24 hours of walking looses you a pound

20 minute walk 4 times a week should do it. but make sure your pace is fast enough to break a sweat. after a couple of weeks slowly increase to 30 min., in no time you will be walking for an hour!, and it will be fun. drink plenty of fuids, mainly water.
i also cut down on carbs, no bread, no rice, and no soda or fruity drinks, stay away from fast food. this helped me lose 15 lbs. in 4 months. it was slow but it feels great.

Cut out starches for dinner, instead of pasta or bread - eat grains like salads.
Walk AS FAST AS YOU CAN (this is important) to get your heart rate UP and STEADY for at least 30 minutes, 3 times a week.

Well, i would walk 1 hour everyday. Then come home and drink water. Dont eat too much junk food like eating thousands of twinkies all day. All you eat is fruit, grains, veggies, Dairy, or meat. and occasionally eat only about 2 peices of junk. Drink water, milk, or juice, or energy drinks like gatorade. No soda!
