Yes. A person truly faithfull to God doesn't need to refer back to some book to know right from wrong. If your christian and you disagree, answer me this: Do you look down when you pray?

What's the big deal? Haven't you got bigger things to worry about in life besides whether or not we'll quote the Bible when answering a question?
I believe the Bible is the Word of God, plain and simple. I can quote it if I want to.
Tell me this shithead, would you ask that same question to a muslim about the koran or to a Jew about the Torah? The answer is no because you have a beef with Christians. You're a loser and find someone else to pick on. Get a life.

I live in a big bible thumping area. Judging from countless inane comments, I'll bet that most christians have NEVER read one page of it. Not ONE page! And guess what, they pretend that henceforth, it's OKAY for them to repeat some drivel they've heard 3rd or 4th hand, or made up.
I'd also bet they hardly picked up a book since that time honored CIA publication, the weekly reader. In short, there's a lot of people out there that don't want you to know just how really lazy and dumb they really are. (Please excuse the grammar.)
Par example: there is not one instance of the word hell, nor any reference to such a place of punishment in either the old or new testaments. That is a relatively new accoutrement wrought by the mideval author Faust!
What they're really doing is blowing you off! Why? Because, aside from the fact that they fear the unknown and want to cover all bets, people that apply reason to solve real probems scare them silly.
After all, within the hieratical command structure that permeates most societies, it is reality accepting thinkers that lead the pack. Now imagine that they've just gotten comfortable with a wonderful little fantasy and now someone rains on their parade.
Now they're going to have to do what the rest of us do every day.
Face reality.

Most quote the Bible as proof of their answer. Some people really are here to learn stuff, not just prey on the weak or easily angered. The fact that they can quote the Bible shows they have plenty of faith in God's word.

I rarely quote the Bible when I answer questions about religion. Usually I can't remember the scriptures exactly, and I would not want to misquote them. However I have an understanding of the general meaning of the scriptures, and this is what I draw from when I answer questions.

I'm a Christian, and I could answer a question without quoting the Bible, but if it's a question about the Bible, isn't quoting it the logical thing to do???

I'm answering this question without quoting the Bible, and I am a Christian, so obviously the answer is no. Are you so threatened by believers in God that you get on here to ask such a silly question?

No, I don't have to quote the Bible, however it would be the basis of all that all Christians believe in. So the viewpoint would be the same without chapter and verse. Go ahead and try me!

just plumb sceerd to death.
My friend, to answer a question about the bible, I'm not so ignorant as to even try.
God's Word is Truth. It is His sword, for Christians to use.
That sword cuts both ways. It can cut through lies and make love, or it can cut to the heart.
A very misinformed Christian would try to answer a bible question without God's Armour.

the Bible says( I know you hate that, duh!), faith follows the thing heard.
as the Bible contains the record of Christ is not it natural to quote from it?
Rather than a lack of faith you could say that the Christians are trying to rely on God's word rather than their own.
