Yep. Wine if full of antioxidents that neutralize free radicals in your system.. Those things cause cancer. Just use common sence when drinking. (Easier said....)

All of the medical studies I've read state that there are strong indications that red wine CAN (BUT NOT "WILL") reduce the CHANCES of developing cancer.
I trust the studies because there are more than one similar study stating this, they have been discussed at academic conferences and none has been challenged to any great degree. --Only a multitude of similar studies AND at least one generatlly approving academic conference makes for good science, you see.
So, I would summarize my reply as: "There are good indications that frequent consumption of red wine will greatly reduce the chances for developing cancer." I would not want to take my reply beyond that.
A flat "yes" is not supported by good science--but, because of the above summary, I drink a small amount of red wine each morning along with taking a full-spectrum vitamen pill and an iron tablet-plus, every other morning, a child's aspirin (uncoated).

Who knows? My grandmother was 98 when she died, worked until the end (editor of Children' Press), volunteered at schools, and "with the old folks", as she would say, reading to seniors at a nursing home. Lived independently until the end, mowed her own grass, etc. When asked her secret to a long and healthy life, she would laugh and say, "7 cigarettes a day and a shot of Scotch". I miss that old lady.

unfortunately, there is no real proof, just a couple of studies. Red wine does cause migraines and seizures in some people, though.
