What will it take to wake Americans up to the truth of this war?

SO tell me - what do you think it will take to Wake Amercans up, so that they fully understand the war on terror and what it potentially means for the future of America / democracy?

It seems that a large percentage of our population does not have a realistic understanding of what we as a nation are up against in this war. It's almost as if they think that it's just a little skirmish that won't affect their lives, when the truth is that our freedoms are under full scale attack.

Will it take another 911? Perhaps a nice little biological / radiological attack on LA would do it. Maybe Americans would wake up if they got up tomorrow morning to find that Chicago had been vaporized by a black market nuclear bomb. Or, would they?

I am pretty damn convinced that it is going to take QUITE A SHOCK to wake Americans up because we have become TOO DAMN SPOILED! So long as we have our cars, our gas to run them, our jobs and our exhalted oracles of propaganda (ie TV), then we are happy.

Whose truth?

I believe that we must finish the tasks we have started in Afghanistan and Iraq. I believe that we must confront the haters when we find them and that we must punish those who attack us.
I do not believe that we must sit and wait to be attacked so that we can deal with the attack as we would a simple bank robbery.

The Muslim terrorists have declared war on America. They have said it many times. I believe them. Why don't you?

How another 9/11 would wake America up when the 9/11 didn't ?

9/11 was the direct consequence of American imperialism and support to Israël oppressing Palestine.

The only thing the 9/11 had wake up is hate of Muslims, because violence nourishes hate and because American people is just unable to question itself.

As I'm suffering for innocents Irakians, Palestinians, Lebanese people, I just hope the next 9/11 will come one day.

I agree with you. Something 10 times worse then 9-11 will probably have to take place to get the attention of these folks that are all of a sudden super-sized, flag waving, extra patriotic citizens.
Whats sad is the next major thing might not even do it, because things tend to change for a lil while there-after, but then they slowly shift back to the way they were.We're doomed.

Is this a question or you ranting? i think that the reason a large percentage of our country doesn't agree with you is that they aren't allowing themselves to be brainwashed by the liberal media. Ironic you mention propaganda.

It is funny how you say that it would take another terrorist attack to awaken americans. That is the whole reason we are over there. If we let Saddam go, it would become a playground for terrorists. If we let him take over Kuwait in the early 1990s he would have owned over 65% of the world's oil. His desires are similar to that of Hitler's.

I do agree that Americans are spoiled and selfish. But plenty of us are feeling the pain of loved ones being sent away and some not returning. Don't say that Americans are clueless about this war, because i dont think they are.

It is you that needs to wake up. Iraq had nothing to do with Sept. 11th. that is fact. It is also fact that In Iraq 300,000 civilians have been killed by Bush and Republicans since Desert Storm. Do you have personal knowledge of how many of that number were "terrorist". Bush does not know and does not care. Now we (Israel) are killing civilians in Lebanon. How many were "terrorist" you don't know. Bu$h does not know. Bu$h and Republicans also don't care, they love killing and love war.
Now this is your lesson in facts for today. I learned this in Viet Nam. A terrorist will not face any Marine in a fight, they do the dirty work behind our backs. You use fear but do not consider facts.
A terrorist is a coward, they would not even face the average American in a fight. The use of fear by Republicans will not intimidate those of us who have wisdom. You have a problem with hate not "terrorist". Stop the hate and "terrorist" will have no work to do in the USA.

radical terrorists dont care about our system of government...thats not what threatens them....if that were the case they would go after countries like switzerland, who is a true democracy. they are going after us because we defend israel and we want to protect our oil interests over there, so we stick our noses in there business....

i know how to preserve our freedoms, lets get the heck out of there and let them settle it amongest themselves....geez what did this world ever do without USA in the past, when US did not exist? ever think of it that way? what we should really do is get off our addiction on oil....and let Israel fix there own problems.

Oh definite i think of maximum American be attentive to approximately 911. you notice in case you're in choose of help from the police or choose a doctor you p.c.. up the telephone and dial 911, it is so trouble-free. i be attentive to multiple human beings are stupid yet provide it time and that they'll determine it out.

I agree, some people don't get it. It's the same reason they don't put up a traffic light until someone dies. In this case, how many more people...Call it a bubble, until they break it, most of our population will be complacent...I hope we will get more proactive then reactive....God help us all.......
