Do the prophecies given in Revelation seem like they are happening now? Do you think the rapture will happen in our generation?

Yes! We have been in the "last days" since Jesus died. If that is not enough then read Revelation in the bible and look at the state of Israel right now. The Apostles were claiming to be in the last days. I could set here and quote prophetic scriptures out of the Bible, but it would take up WAY too much space. All you have to do is look at the decreasing morality of mankind. YES, we are in the last days. Ok now that I thought about it I will quote just a few....
1 Peter 4:7 But THE END of ll things is at hand....
2 Peter 3:8 ....One day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day.
Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the LAST DAYS that I will pour out of my spirit on all flesh and your sons and daughters will prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.....(Peter is quoting a a prophecy in the book of Joel and it came to pass in the book of Acts on the day of Pentecost). There are more but I hope this helps!

Revelations was written during a time of persecution of Christians under the emperor Nero. Well documented scholarship has clearly placed the context for Revelations in that historical period.

Prophecies are intentionally vague and can be applied to virtually any current event. That is what many preachers do, because it's a perpetually profitable undertaking.

Read about the Millerian movement of the 1840's - the birth of the Seventh Day Adventists. (Adventism is the term used to describe the kind of experience you are feeling or seeking right now). Many people who followed Rev. Miller were sorely disappointed. After learning about his movement, you may feel more drawn to other places in the Bible that have greater solace for the soul in all situations.

People in the Middle East have been fighting over stones for millenia. It's a preoccupation of people with hot weather and not enough water to go around. Forming a religion around their squabbles is hardly casting a wide net.

The Bible predicts the rebuilding of Babylon in the end of the days... There is proof that Saddam Husein was beginning to rebuild Babylon... so yes... we are close...

but I don't think the rapture will happen in our generation... just a gut feeling... nothing to back that up

However.. the true end of days won't come till after the tribulation and the thousand years reign of Christ on earth... so we still have at lease 1007 years...

They have been preaching this for hundreds of years. And guess what. The earth and all the people are still here.

The rapture is a load of crap too. It was invented a few hundred years ago. You can research that it is a fact. The same as the current definition of hell.

I believe we are living in the end times. I think it is very likely that the rapture will take place in our generation.

Yes, I do believe these are the last days. Of course EVERY generation since Jesus died has beleived the same thing. The question should be less about "The" End of Days and more about about OUR End of Days. The end may come someday, but our own death is certain. Are any of us really ready to meet our judgment?

Ever since the world began, it has been ending. . .tomorrow will be even closer to doomsday than today. Two weeks from next Thursday will be EVEN CLOSER.

We're all going to die in the next 60 years or so, so who cares whether the world comes with us or not?

Love yourself and others now.
