Seizuers are the same for animals as they are for humans. They can appear and disappear just as quickly. Take the dog to the vet and get it tested. I am sure that the dog is Epileptic. As I said earlier, this is a common problem, and easily treated with medication.

What type of dog?
Lots of things can cause seizures. Sometimes, it comes with the breed. Other reasons are:
Ingested poison (like flea/tick remedies, soaps)
Prolonged exposure to unclean water (ie, do you have well water, town water - filtration - softener system?)
Stress (usually a little dog thing - also with bulldogs)
There's a lot that can factor in for seizures. Talk to your vet and watch your dog. You may be able to factor out environmental variables.

from what can understand, it is a chemical inbalance of the brain=epilepsy
also low blood sugar
it is inherited in some breeds
medications can help control the seizures

Besides whats already mentioned what about epilepsy? Tape the next episode your dog has and take the tape to your vet.
