It's a mix of both. This might seem a bit superficial but I don't care. You have to have a good combination of both in order for a guy to stick around. Looks without personality is just like having a really fast, expensive sports car that has absolutely no room but for the dirver and 1 passenger; Sure, it's fun to take for a ride, but you can't actually do much with it, andwith the cars as with those women, it will usually end up costing you a pretty penny. By the same coin, all personality without at least average looks won't get you anywhere either. Think of this like a new cell phone that has tons of features, but weighs like 2 lbs and is the size of a paperback novel. Sure, you'll get the couple of people who will forego any sort of form for great function, but for most men, you must have both in proportion.

To me, I prefer a girl with a good personality. Someone that is nice, intelligent, shares my interest etc. But, honestly, I'm never even going to get to the personality if I'm not attracted to the looks, at least not in a romantic context. Call me shallow, but I think looks are like the prerequisite. You have to pass that test before moving on to more advanced course work, ya know? I'm not saying I shun girls that I find unattractive. I've even befreinded a few. But freinds is all we are or ever will be.
Why do I think like this? It follows the natural couse of attraction, I think. Physical attraction is reactive. It's quick with very little thought ivolved. Can't help it. But it will only get your foot in the door. No matter how fine a girl is, if her personality is ugly, she then becomes ugly in my eyes.

The best thing is to have a nice mix. Personality is always more important in the long run but you also have to have enough looks to have that initial attraction that draws someone in to have a chance to get to know the personality that the person has if that makes sense.

It is kind of a split. I think personality is good cause if she gets on my nerves who cares how hot she is. An awesome, outgoing personality can make up for some ugliness. On the other hand you can have the best personality in the world and if you are 400 pounds and hairy, I don't want to date you.

Actually I chose my lady based on more than just looks and personality. I wanted my children to not have to wear glasses or contacts, so I chose a woman whose family has good eyesite. I wanted my children to be larger than I am, so I chose a woman whose family had larger men. I wanted my children to be healthy, so I chose a woman who is extremely health. If a man wants to marry and start a family he has to think of these things. Of course she was pretty and extremely nice. After all of these years she is still that way to me.

Attitude is everything looking good is nice for a moment but when the intoxication wears off, what are you left with? someone with a really good personality is the cherry on top.

Personality. I like what's inside in a girl's heart. She gotta be sweet, kind, friendly, and all those ingredients that makes a girl a lady.

They can be the hottest girl but if they are snobby and stuck up then it makes them look like garbage....personality is definately more important. ps i wouldn't date a fatty just for personality either though lol
