Speaking from experience thats a tough question. I dated a girl and I am a single father. When we broke up, my daughter was really attached which is normal. But it is so hard to explain to them why that person isn't around. I also have a female friend that was going through the same thing, not with the attachment of the kid and bf but the guy said the same to her as to you about having a kid. I am tempted to start dating girls with kids. Anyways, just think about what the outcome might be, if you are still interested in him, how can you be friends? If you see him dating some girl are you gonna get jealous? And think about whether or not it will be hard on your child. It is tough, no doubt.
Just weigh your options and that will tell you what you need to do. Good luck.

It sounds like he wants you to do all of the things that a girlfriend will do without the thought of being tied down to you, because you have a son from a previous relationship. You stated "I had to talk to the guy to see where he wanted the relationship to go." This statement sounds like to me that you want something serious and possibly looking at this guy as marriage material. He however is not marriage material. You are wasting your time. End this now, and do not be friends with him either. If you agree to end the relationship and be friends, he will assume that he can swing through in the midnight hour and lay up in your bed. Girl, drop him and go find the man of your dreams who will treat you right.

Continue being friends with the guy if you like him..but considering he doesnt seem like a big fan of kids, don't expect your relationship with him to enhance past good friends.

I'm sorry but let him go because if he can't accept your kid then there is no space for him in your life! And yea be friends with him so that he may give you stuff for the kid or whatever. (my opinion you don't have to listen, but follow your heart.)

It's hard for him to be a dad to a kid thats not his. Maybe it's best u to be friends or jst a little more than friends.

You seem to have been given no choice. Either be his friend, or stop seeing him, period.
