Anyone who says Mustang GT is smoking crack, seriously, the 06 GTO will murder an 06 Mustang GT.

GTO: 400hp, 6.0L LS2 V8, 0-60: 4.7 1/4 mile: 13.0
MGT: 300hp, 4.6L SOHC 3v V8, 0-60: 5.8 1/4 mile: 13.90

You Mustang nut huggers need to wake up! It may be a good looking car but it's not all that fast!

The Mustang, definately the Mustang. I thought about getting the GTO, but ti's not branded enough, and from what i hear are going to be discontinued soon. Get the American Classic, which you know will be around for many years to come

if you go to www.edmunds.com you can find performance spec for most cars.

The Pontiac is rated at 5.8 sec to go from 0 to 60
The Mustang GT is rated at 5.68 sec to go from 0 to 60
So the GT is a little faster.

But 0 -60 is not the only concern for buying sports car.
Test drive both, they will drive very different.
Of course, most people buy car base on looks, and i like the way the Mustang GT look better then the GTO.
Good luck and have fun.

The Pontiac GTO. But if you want one, you'd better get it soon - it won't be available in the US for much longer.
