Being baptized and going to church isn't what it's all about. Those are good things, but you need to sart talking to God. Pray to him tell him everything going on in your life and trusting that God will take care of what you need. I was talking to someone and they told me this cute little saying, and it has stuck with me. Faith is not believing that God can, it's knowing that God WILL! So start walking with the Lord, and eventually you will hear the holy spirit talking to you and telling you not to do certain stuff. Listen to it, don't be scared of what others will think. God will never leave you nor forsake you. Also an accountability partner will help, someone who will checkup on you and ask how your walk with the Lord is going. It usually helps. Finnaly I will be praying for you, e-mail me if you ever want to talk or need anything. Congrats on becoming a Christian, it was the best choice of your life!

Congratulations Bobby. I am glad you understand the Trinity and have decided to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.

Be baptized as soon as possible, and believe. Now that you are a Christian, try not to be judgmental, for that is God's providence. We can only discern the Godly from the ungodly and try not to stray. Be patient with those that are not like-minded and pray for them. Warn those who are not on the straight path, but don't condemn them.

Finally, pray always for discernment in all things.

Here's wishing you the best of luck on your Christian walk. Welcome!

to realize that the bible tells us that the Holy Spirit baptizes the believer into the body of Christ, indwells and seals that one unto the day of redemption, In other words, the Holy Spirit convicts the sinner into believing in Jesus Christ, accepting Him as savior and finding that he has been born again. Not physically but
spiritually. Knowing that God gives us a measure of faith which may be small but can be increased through righteous living, prayer and study. Count it a blessing that you have been called to the Christian life. Jesus Christ is a priceless gift from
from God.

oh, certainly a lot! you're a young Christian and your worth will be tested. a good tree will bear good fruit. you will be known by your fruits.

and don't ever think life will be easier and that's it. you will be tested. there will be persecutions. be strong. make a firm foundation. like the house that's build on rock. do not listen to these people.

Matthew 13:21
But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.

Luke 6:48
He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.

run the race, and focus on the prize! there will be distractions. sometimes in order to be strong you have to be weak. opposite spirit. do not conform to this world. God bless you on your journey!

According to the Bible, you don't even need to do those things you've already done to be a "good" Christian.

Jesus literally just said, "follow me," and that was it. From that point on, if they followed Him they were his disciples. He called, they came. No buying of Bibles, no baptisms, no perfect church attendance required. Just faithful following.

According to many "churches," however, you have to do lots of things to be "good," like sing loud in church, donate money (you're especially "good then), teach Sunday school (read: brainwash little kids before they can understand faith). Truly, I think the self proclaimed "holy church" is selling bull. Go to God's word to see what he wants, and nowhere else.

Good for you.
I consider myself a good Christian but have never been baptized.

It isn't just something you figure out you are gonna do and then forget about it.

Every time you face a trouble you need to trust in the lord. When ever you do anything, the question in the back of your mind should be "What would Jesus do?"

And you need to keep your faith strong.

And remember that everyone has sin and don't judge others, leave that to God.

The word "Christian" means to be Christ-like, most people who profess Christianity are not Christ-like.
The Bible says that there are no good people, we are all born into sin, that is why we need a Savior, if Jesus has saved you His righteousness becomes yours. Thus it's not a matter of trying to be good in order to earn something. It's a matter of being "good" out of gratitude for the salvation you have been given.
Rest in the finished work of the Lord, read your Bible (NKJV is my Bible of preference), study it, keep going to church, and repent quickly when you become aware of sin in your life.

A whole lot actualy...if you are at a true Baptist Church then you have been poorly instructed based on the way you have stated your position... or you have misunderstood your instruction...I invite you to read in my website starting from the begining as I have it set up to follow... Go over what I present in that first section of 9 pages and then you can ask your church teachers what questions you might have... or you can email me from the contact page and I can give it a shot at answering... but it is best if you can get with someone from the church.. perhaps recomended by the pastor..and start a beginers Bible study... but you are invited to review my site to find things you might have a question about and they can give their pov on my pov of all the God stuff.... that is how you learn... dont be afraid to question if you have one.

May God guide you in all your study and seeking

You don't have to do anything... Jesus accepts and love you just as you are... simply learn all you can about him and allow yourself to grow as a believer... Christianity is about a relationship with Christ it isn't really about doing anything special... Then simply share your faith with others... and help others grow.

If you want to be a pastor then go for it... sounds like you would be a good one... do some research on different seminaries to obtain an MDiv degree (Masters of Divinity) which is necessary for most pastoral positions.

There are many things that must be done. but you are off to a great start. Read the Gospels and Letters of Paul, basicallly the new testament. read it yourself and get to know what jesus was all about. His message is clear and simple. But you have to find it for yourself. dont let anyone brain wash you. God is alive and his spirit is with you. It will guide you. keep your faith and love for God. That same love will help you understand. At the end of your journey you will come to one conclusion. Its all about Love, love for God, love for people. Dont let the spoils of this world corrupt your mind. When you truly get to know God, You will be set free. And then you will know what being a christian is all about!

Good luck on your journey, the righteous path is narrow this is why not many decide to fallow it. But you have your whole life ahead of you to become an example and the "light" that jesus wants you to be... May the spirit of God be with you!
