Any POLL you are getting your information from is probably a left wing organization, and can slant it anyway thy want.
I certainly think that if we don't win this war, we will be in the worse shape of our lives, from a "world opinion" stand point in that we would look weak in the eyes of our enemies.
I don't want full scale war here, so we have to stop it where began, in the Terrorist filled countries. This task would have been a lot easier if Clinton had done his job when he was told about Osama and the plans he was making to attack the US. He was a spineless leader, with all the blood from his brain draining into his pants. Clinton was a coward not to have confronted the problem. His neglect allowed the terrorist organization to become more organize, and to form solid relationships with Saddam regime in Iraq.
We have to finish what was started over there, and try to preserve the lives of the Good People of Iraq.
Sorry you had such a bad experience in the Service. But at least you didn't have to fight in Vietnam like my husband. So YOU shut your Whiny AS* Cry Baby Pie Hole and be a man.
Oh, and when you get answers you don't like, don't select them as best answer, then insult the writer, it can't be good for your self esteem and inward anger.

Who says sixty percent of Americans are agains the war in Iraq? Have you talked to 100 percent of all Americans to find out that sixty percent of are indeed against it? Polls can be extrapolated any numbers of ways and there is always a margin of error. Not only that, the way the question is posed can give you one answer, the one the pollster is looking for, while the truth is entirely different. I don't believe in polls, I believe in votes. According to Dianne Feinstein most Americans are pro-choice. Yet when those same Americans went to the polls in November 2004, they overwhelmingly elected pro-life candidates from all over the nation. And they elected a pro-life president. That speaks more clearly than a poll.
Next most of the media in America are anti-American socialists with a very liberal agenda. They collude with the enemy. They villanize our boys overseas fighting the good fight, making them all out to be rapists and cold blooded murderers. They wish to perpetuate another Viet Nam on America and have our soldiers return home being spit on and harrassed. They love Muslims even though Muslims would cut their throats in a heartbeat if given the opportunity. So excuse me if I don't believe some hyped up poll from the liberal media that wishes to destroy my country.
And I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free
And I won't forget the men who died
Who gave that right to me
And I will gladly stand up
Next to you and defend her still today
'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land
God bless the USA

Have you actually thought about what would happen if we just up and pulled our troops out and came home? All the lives that have already been lost and or changed forever by injuries would all be for nothing, and that would be a shame. Not to mention as unstable as that area of the world is on a good day...the militants and extremist that would come out of the woodwork to set up shop there. Not to forget the ones that already have a strong hold. How long would it be before there was another 9/11? My husband is in the Army currently deployed in support of OIF....I want him to come home more than anything in the world, but not until his job is done.

We broke it, we have to fix it. I would love to leave the hell hole right now, but until there is atleast a semblence of stability we can't, we have to clean up our mess. The question is no longer should we have gone, it's how long are we going to have to stay, and for the record CONGRESS SENT US TO WAR NOT BUSH, the President does not have the power to declare war, congress has the power to declare war. Congress is still voting to fund this war, write your representitives and complain. I think as far as this war went Bush was a genius, "who the hell am really pissed at...? Oh Iraq is laughing in our faces, lets bring the war over there and flush out the problem on their turf." There are many things we as civillians don't know, I just remind myself of the old adages, "ignorance is bliss," and "a person is smart... people are stupid."

Because about 60% wanted to go to war in the first place. We have to finish. Just because some have changed their minds does not mean that we can just stop. If we leave Iraq then someone else will come in and take over. Ummm. A country in chaos with a vacuum of power. I wonder who would come in and set up shop. Oh yeah the guy that did it in Afghanistan Bin Laden.

Please say your source for that statistic. History may prove that we had to be there. In WWII, a large percentage of the American people were against any US involvement in the "European's war". FDR worked behind the scenes and we wound up semi-prepared to join in, and saved the world from subjugation to Germany and Japan. I am not making a direct correlation to our current situation, because there are differences. Just making a point. I would like to know where you are getting the info on the 60% opposition to the war, for my own knowledge.

60% of the people could be wrong. What percentage of the people thought slavery was OK in the past?
It is a dirty difficult job , made more so by the appeasers over the years. We are paying a terrible price for not dealing with the East vs. West dilema directly on a contiuous basis.

The people of the US believed the lies their own government told them about WMD. Then the entire economy and government of Iraq was destroyed by the war and more and more terrorist insurgents came into the country. Now we are told that we cannot leave until the country is stabilized -- that may be never.

After 9/11 the majority were in favor of responding with force. That was the right thing to do. Now you just want to walk away?
We haven't been attacked again and we have George to thank for being strong and not bending to liberal media.
Pluss I don't believe those numers - 60%. We are the silent majority who support our president and our troops. God Bless America
