I've been dating a new guy and still haven't done anything sexually. What would you think if a girl you just started dating asked you to get tested (for HIV/ other STD's). Would you be honest with her?

Hmmm... I actually got myself tested before having sex with one serious girlfriend because she asked...
:)
If the guy likes/wants you bad enough - he'll run to a free clinic to get the test (school clinics do these for free).
Only downside is - you have to wait a couple days/weeks for the HIV to come back and if you're REALLY paranoid, lemme push you over the edge - there is a period of time you can HAVE HIV but not have it show up on the test...
Use real protection just to be safe. ;)

Good for you!!!! I think that is the most mature thing I've ever seen here on YA. It means you respect and like yourself. I don't know you but I'm proud of you.
If he's smart he'll be willing to be tested and if you've been sexually active before him you should too. It's a good way to start a relationship.

Of course, it's for his benefit as well as yours. If he's bothered by the request, take a walk on the boardwalk and find a new guy (do not pass go, do not collect $200, do not let yourself end up w/ an STD unknowingly).

I would be honest, but then I would honestly tell you goodbye because your credibility is now nil. You have obviously been sexually active and I don't need the hassle of that. I would be looking for a lady, one that has high standards and high morals and that question leads me to conclude that you don't fit that description. If you asked me that in a more serious relationship because you and I were looking for a marriage partner that's another matter.

Depends...if we just started dating I would be apprehensive,=, because I would think that sex is the first thing on her mind; if we dated longer and really communicated I would not mind getting tested or having sex.

As long as she went with me and got tested at the same time, sure. After all she's as new to me as I am to her.

i get tested ever 6 months and go thown 2 girlfriends in six months so i need it and more then willingly
