Peaches (same name as one of our lovebirds) is still a new member of the family. I wouldn't try this so soon. The bird is still getting used to it's new envirnoment. If you didnt buy a mate for Peaches, that's too bad, the sales staff should have told you that lovebirds need to be sold in pairs as they are bonded and without a mate..their life expectancy greatly reduces

The mos tpossible motives that the Lovebird won't such as you're: *The chook hasn't been conscious of this is new environment(your place) *that's a wild chook, and would not slot in "city existence"(as properly conservational and ethical motives, wild caught animals are extra in all probability to get ill and to die). *Lovebirds are very lively and require an properly sized cage. They require a lot of toys and issues to chew on and play with. Lovebirds are rather social birds, and there is debate on no count if or no longer they could be stored in my view. Did this help?

birds are naturally scared of us humans. It is going to take way more than 2 days to train her. You have to earn her trust which means she has to get used to you gradually. Take time & just sit by her cage & talk to her or read a book or whatever...just be close. Then when she seems comfortable with you near...open her cage & just lay your hand inside not trying to touch her...give her time to get used to your hand. Next step is holding your hand close to her gently nudging her to step up. This is a long process & will probably take months. But once she gets used to you things will come easier for her. After all...she is a tiny little bird, looking up at a towering thing which she has no idea what its going to do to her. Try seeing yourself from her view. Be patient with her...never yell or make sudden movements as that will increase her fear of you. Get a book on Love Birds & that will help too. Good Luck & God Bless!

When I first got brought my lovebirds home they were anxiety ridden whenever I tried to get them out of the cage. Once they were out they were fine. It took a month of working with them, that when I went to get them out of the cage they now step up. Now mine are very good about stepping up and they even give kisses. They also like going down my shirt on my shoulder and going to sleep. I wish you the best.

Must be a peach-face! LOL That is what I named mine too! Give it 2 weeks to acclimate. Go slow, don't 'attack' it with affection until it is used to its new environment. They aren't toys ya know. And if you don't want to get another bird, just realize your bird needs YOU for company. And, if you get another lovebird, it will like the other bird better than you. Its 6 of one and half a million of the other.

I to have a peached face love bird. I would try putting your hand in gentle, and try to catch her, and then pet her on her/his head with your finger tip to let him/her know you are not going to hurt em.
I have had mine for several yrs now, her mate died almost 2 yrs ago now, but I bought her a mirro and she loves it. If your bird is or has been hand feed he/her will be easy to train, mine on the other hand was a bird from a pet store. Never trained, so she is old now and I just talk to her everyday through the gage, and she will actually squawk back at me. She 13 yrs old now. Good Luck trying with your bird, like I said if it has been hand fed from a baby you should have no problem training it to getting use to the new surroundings.. Its only been 2 days, give it some time to adjust to you and etc. They are fun to have.. I love my bird..

Let her get used to you. Stay near her cage, then take her out more and more. She needs to know you're not a predator and you wont eat her. Then try teaching her when you gain her trust.

Spend more time just around her. not trying to hold her but just around the cage.
