no it is the dilation of blood vessels that alcohol causes..And therfore you get a red flushed face..

With beer I've only seen that in people who can't metabolize alcohol or who've had a lot to drink (maybe you're really small though...? Otherwise you need to drink more to build up your capacity :-) ). If you feel sleepy at all soon after those 2-3 drink, then it's a good bet that you can't metabolize and you shouldn't be drinking.
I'm kinda worried about the chinese girlfriend of the guy above...sounds like someones in for some alcohol poisoning -- that I've seen in one stubborn and unfortunate Thai guy.

Mild redness after a lot of drinks is known. Its called 'flushing'. But if it lasts for a long time or if its seen little alcohol.... its could be starting symptoms of a condition called Rosacea.
I think if it bothers you too much meet your dermatologist.

What is your nationality - in Native North Americans , this is common it is called the Oriental Flush Syndrome. I'm not sure if Asians or other nationalities get it , but I know that' s what happens to Natives

I gget hot when I eat sweet/sour candy. I think it is similar to your problem. I think it is a sugar high.
