Let us not be too personal now, we as the United States earned that land. The entire southwest would be in dire straits if Mexico still owned Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. So, if you have any complaints and you live in one of those states JOSE, then you write to your state senator in your poorly written English, or make a phone. I am not psychic, but I am sure that your spoken English is just as poor, and an operator on the other end of the line will put you through to your state representative immediately. GOOD LUCK MUCHACHO!!!

Decisions were made prior to the revolution that the U.S. would aid only civil leaders who enforced neutral laws. The U.S. decided that they would react to the revolution through intervention only if Mexican military endangered the lives or property of North Americans. Because of the attention the Mexican Revolution had in the United States, political parties tried to make the Revolution a political issue during the 1916 election. Some politicians like Theodore Roosevelt believed that the U.S. should step in during the revolution which they felt would solve Mexico’s problems. In the end, U.S. policies towards Mexico were unsympathetic, at times hostile and the U.S. became internationalist in the war they initially wanted only to monitor.

You should be glad, Jose. If Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California were still part of Mexico, then they'd have the same failed economy that the rest of Mexico has...and you'd have to go all the way up to Nebraska to find work.

hey bato, you are making an azz out of yourself. Learn your history primero and stop spreading the folk tales that you were told back in the rancho. I worked my tail off to put myself through college. I have proudly and honorably served in the USAF. I achieved my goals with out any hand outs. However, and i gratefully admit it. I would not have what i have, nor be who i am if it wasn't for the opportunity this great nation which is America offered me. and for that I'm grateful.Yo soy de Mexico I do not deny it. and i will chant it proudly anywhere. but when my own countrymen spread ignorance, and half truth/half made up stories that damages their image and drag mine along, then i believe i am obliged, to step up and kindly inform you of your erroneous ideas.
briefly : the US bought territory from Mexico, Mexico lost land to the US, but it wasn't by means of thievery. Look it up, its in the history books, both American and Mexican histories.
STOP DRAGGING OUR IMAGE IN THE MUD.

Jose, the United States won a war against Mexico. Mexico LOST the war. Even though the United States WON the war, we still paid Mexico millions and millions of dollars for the land. It was not stolen. Santa Ana, who was president of Mexico during the war, was not a strong leader. He thought he could win, but he LOST. He is who you should be mad at. But he's dead.

with specific regard to texas, you may have a point. But for instance, in New Mexico, the Navajo were there before either of us. And I believe it was mostly indigenous tribes throughout the continental US. And didn't Spain basically steal Mexico from the Nahuatl-speaking people?

It yours? I think not! Why would we even give it to anyone who let their country be third world, so that America can become one too. I live in Arizona and this Zonie will not let that happen. Say NO to becoming a third world country. America won, get over it already!
