I think " a lot " would depend on the age , situation of the child you would be referering to. Obviously there are going to be huge differences in a five year olds behavior & that of a teenager.

As a parent you are deffinately responsible for the teaching of right & wrong & for making an attempt to instill morals & values into your children. However you can not force your every belief nor control your childs every move in life past a certain age.

Yes.I am saying this first hand from experience.I have a nephew,he is 4 years old.He has a bad mouth(not cussing just sassy),he throws things,he hits and kickes, and anything to keep from getting punished.By that time my sister gives in,she is yet responsible for this behavior because she is showing him if you throw a bad enough tantrum i will give in and you will be able to avoid punishment. It isnt fair for the child, honestly. It isnt at all because he is being given the wrong message.Children understand alot more than we think they do.She has put a firmer form of discipline on him and you can tell a difference now.It is all in the parents set and example and STICK to it,Dont give into your child it only allows them to believe that bad behavior get away with things.

Yes they should until the child is about 16, and then the child is more an adult anyway. Parents should raise their child well from day one. If they do that then they shouldn't have to worry about their child is doing/not doing. I also think a child should be responsible for their own behavior from day one also.

Yes to some extent they should.
You bring em in to this world then you teach them morals and responsibility along the way. On the other hand, some parents are amazing and their child turns out to be some crazy monster.
Its a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck to raise a good kid with basic morals nowadays

hi
parents are responsible for their childs behavior. though socioety too playz an important part.. but the foundation of behaviour and values in child is build by the parents..child learns more by seeing...so ur behavior counts.. if u r a yelling freak so dont expect ur child to be cool and calm with u when he grows up..its evrything..the way u talk ..how much importance u give to sprituality and moral values....spritualy is the best way to make a child into a great humanbeings

Absolutely...when parents let their kids run wild, when they can't be bothered to take time to teach kids how to act, when Parent rely on teachers doing the parent's job, yes, the parents must take responsibility for their own failures and laziness.

I think up to a certain age they should be! In most cases if parents had tried better the kids wouldn't be such a pain!

Yes they are because the parent should have taught the child what they know: which shines through the child.

Yes, I think it would help encourage parents to try a little harder to guide their kids in the right direction.
