Go to a professional!Have them put some blonde highlights (they will use bleach) in your hair .It will be a little hard on your hair depending on the present condition but the mix of brown with blonde highlights will be beautiful. Then use a really good conditioner (one with a protein builder).Use professional products!!!!!They really make a difference.Good luck to you.I'm so sorry you don't like the brown. It sucks when you try something new and it doesn't work out.

I'm not a professional myself, but I've had plenty o' experience dying my hair with professional products and I have a friend who is a professional, so maybe I can help.
Actually, there are products that will remove the color from your hair. Do you have a Sally Beauty Supply store in your area? I know for a fact that they sell this (and I know for a fact it works--I had a hair coloring mishap myself once). I believe it was called "color corrector" or something along those lines (ask a sales associate to be sure, they're very knowledgeable). Obviously this isn't the best thing you can do for your hair, but hair is more forgiving than you might think. Just DON'T try to bleach it back!! If you like your hair having any kind of nice texture and shape, you will NOT bleach it to get rid of the bad dye! I also think that highlights probably aren't the best idea, for the same reason. It will be less traumatic than bleaching your whole head, but still not a great idea right after you've dyed your hair.
The other option is to simply wait for about a week or two. Brown dyes always look darker immediately after you dye your hair, and they will fade (even permanent dyes fade). Just wash your hair as normal (or maybe use a deep cleaning shampoo, but not a color-care shampoo), and you'll be surprised how fast it fades. It won't completely fade back to your normal color, but you might like the shade of brown that it turns. When I dye my hair brown, I always aim for a shade darker than what I like, because I know it will fade quickly and I'll be happy with what it's faded to, even if I had to put up with too-dark hair for a week or two.
The secret third option, though, is that you might be able to convince your stylist (the one that messed it up in the first place) to fix it for free. You might have to put on a display of histrionics, and this usually works better immediately after they've messed it up. Just remember that hair-styling is a service that you don't have to pay for if you're not satisfied. (Personally, I've never done that, but it does happen. A professional stylist will accept their mistake and fix your hair the way you want it.)

it'll be better to wait a while other wise you'll fry your hair and you could run the chance of losing it.
I've always heard if you wash it a lot then it will help the color fade.
If this color is a new change it could just be shock, give it a day or two and see if it grows on you.

Going to a lighter color will require professional coloring. If you try to color it yourself; you could end up with a bigger disaster than what you already have.
