I have two beautiful children.
Katie-8 and Jonathan-2.
But one day we were grocery shopping and Jonny all of a sudden said "Oh sh!t" out of no where. Nobody was around us, so i just told him no, and i didnt make a big deal of it. But when we got home , he was singing the word like it was a song. I don't know where he got it from.. i have never cussed around him, OR Katie. and my husband Ralph doesn't cuss, either. The next day at playgroup, he walked up to a little boy and pushed him down and said the word again. All of the mothers looked at me weird and i could tell they were thinking "What kind of mother is she?" and i immediatley took Jonny home and discussed how he shouldn't use that word, but he still continues. Can anybody help me?

He is hearing the word somewhere.. probably from TV..
I remember when my now 4 year old repeated a cuss word that his Daddy said but unlike you correcting him that one time and his Dad no longer cussing around him it was no longer an issue!!
If he was older than 2 then it might be a little easier for him to understand that that word is a BAD word, but at two, and you know this, you can tell them something and not 2 minutes later they forget!!
Hot sauce in the mouth is just cruel and time out probably isn't that affective right now!!
All I would suggest you can do is just keep reminding him everytime he says it that it is a bad word and he should not say it!!
Don't worry I don't think the other mothers thought badly of you as a parent and if they did then shame on them. Nobody has perfect kids!!!

First, you may comprehend that that's no longer your son's fault and bi-polar is a affliction that runs/ruins someones existence. He desires therapy and not basically meds. you may drug him into submission yet that heavily isn't the respond, he will experience extra proper and circulate off the meds and then be good decrease back the place you began. therapy centers are good, yet no longer sufficient and four or 5 days are not even long sufficient to get him stabilized on the meds. that could take as much as a month to make certain the proper dosage and maximum bi-polar meds have been never examined on infants, basically adults so its very difficult to get that discovered. 2d, take the television out of his room, even however he does have a expert excuse for multiple his habit, he nonetheless needs to benefit approximately effects. 0.33, all siblings combat, he may well be somewhat worse because of the fact of he's bi-polar. bear in mind, that's extremely complicated to regulate the united statesand downs and extremes of bi-polar. (bear in mind while Brittney Spears lost her concepts) they won't administration those issues. Forth, easily you may celebrate his birthday! or you're truthfully telling him & displaying you do no longer care. ANd 5th and finally... cling in there. i be attentive to its annoying.

Well, my son cussed in front of a preacher's wife when he was very young. We took away privileges and gave him a spanking that to this day he has not forgotten. He is now 22 and doesn't use bad language around me. Sometimes you just have to find the right punishment that works. Good luck.

My nephew did this for awhile. I simply would tell him if he wanted to use that word he could but "ONLY" in his room because it was not nice & nobody wanted to hear it. Then I would put him in his room & tell him when he was done he could come out. It took a couple days of repeating this till it was no longer fun for him to say this word.
Keep in mind they are children. They are not "TRYING" to be bad but it sure seems fun when something gets a lot of attention that quickly to them.

it's normal. my cousin who is 2 cusses all the time.. it's sort of sad lol. anyways, he's 2.. 2 year olds aren't the smartest people on earth, but whenever my cousin says somthing bad, i sit with her and tell her that it's not nice to say, and it's bad. If i were you, i would try sitting with him and discussing it.
Good luck :)

You gotta really punish him when he says that word. Not only is it embarrassing for you as a mother, but it is not something a 2 year old should say. Tell him that it is a "trash can" word and "we don't say trash can words". He needs to learn that it is a bad word and he is not aloud to say it.

Dont freak out when they cuss at that age they dont know what they are saying, but when you get that suprised look on your face or scold (sp) him for saying that he just found a new way to get your attention.

Give him an alternative.
Punish him when he says it (corner time)
Give him 0 attention when he says it.
Have a party when he uses your alternative
