We are moving to Buffalo, New York within a month, and we have heard mixed reports about it. High crime, fabulous place to live, etc. Anybody have good housing tips as far as neighborhoods?? We would like to buy a house. Also, anybody go to a good, Bible believing church?? How about libraries with story times and parks??

I lived there before in 1977 and I liked growing up there. Now it is not so great, my sister still lives there and she said there is a lot of crime.
The suburbs are nice, though. The good thing about it is that it is inexpensive.
It is near a lot of other places like; Niagara Falls, Toronto. You are not far from Canada.
I go back every once in a while, and I would say it is better to live on the upper westside and the northwest. Certain parts of south Buffalo are okay.
The eastside and northeast are the worst; there are a lot of gangs and fighting.
There are a lot of churches. There is a big main Library in downtown Buffalo and of course a lot of neighborhood libraries.
There are are few parks, Delaware, Riverside, Grover Cleveland.
I don't know what else to say, but just make sure you check out the neighborhood you are moving into before getting settled.
Good Luck

Hey,has your family gone mad to have decided about moving to Buffalo? coz Buffalo is really deteriorating so bad thesedays and nothing is left there. All the businesses are closing down, the city people are moving out to other cities in search of jobs, unemployment problem is creeping out the entire city, crime rate is soaring high up and basically the whole city itself has died so much the population rate is decreasing by thousands day by day. Recently, on the TV too they showed about this city's downfall and interviewed quite a number of local business people, business analyst and also local people regarding the same, the feed back from them didn't sound good at all as I said earlier, all about those unemployment problems due to shutting down of most of the businesses. The locals seemed very unhappy about this unwelcoming change in the city once used to be big business city. So give a second thought coz your family don't wanna suffer from severe unemployment and financial problem there for nothing.

you could bypass bypass to Darien Lake, a 6 Flags leisure park it really is about 0.5-hour outdoors of Buffalo, in Darien. that is ideal off of I-ninety, the second one go out after Depew. (I figured with your boys, they could take exhilaration in that.)
