Andrea yates was found not guilty by reason of insanity for drowning her 4 kids but a man was sentenced 9 years in prison for stabbing her niece's dog. Am I crazy or does this not make sense?

No, you're not crazy. You're just informed on how messed up this country's judicial system is. Catering and pandering to the rich and famous and throwing minorities who could have been at the scene of the crime (likely weren't) under the bus.

I'm not really familiar with the Yates case ( at least it doesn't register rite now) but a person stabbing a dog and getting of with a 9 year sentence is absurd . this person is obviously a danger to society and potentially a sociopath
a person who would kill there own children should be locked away too insane or not . if a person is capable of killing their own children who else would they decide to kill?

Its called animal cruelty. Even though she is found not guilty by reason of insanity. She will probably spend most of her life in a mental hospital. The sad thing is, her husband has to know something was going on, yet did nothing about it. If you don't think mental disease is a real problem, and you don't think people can be so far away from themselves to do things like that, you need to go to a mental hospital and find out for yourself.
