You should never go to Church without your KJV Holy Bible . The Pastor will ask the members to occasionally turn with him to verses in the Bible to follow along as he reads Gods` Holy Word . What can you expect your first day in Church ? You should expect the Holy Spirit to show up in your heart ! If you are going to Church for any reason other than to Worship , Praise , & bring Honor & Glory to your Savior , then you are going to Church for the wrong reason ! When you are in Church , it is between you and God , don`t worry about anybody or anything else ! Don`t be ashamed to go to the alter and Pray , thanking God for all your Blessings. As a new Christian , ask God for His Will to be done in your life , to guild you down the path of life by the light of His Glory ! The hardest part will be after Church , when you have left the House of God and step back into the real world . This will be a test you can expect each and every time you leave Church services . The devil is waiting to discourage you and take your mind off of any Blessing you have experienced while in Gods` House , and hearing Gods` word !! Keep the Faith , God Bless and stay in Church ..... Continue to ask the Lord if this is the Church He wants you to be in !!!!!

If you want to read along with the preacher, then by all means, take your Bible with you. You probably won't really NEED it, though. They will read the scriptures aloud that they intend to discuss in the sermon.
In the Baptist church (which is a non-liturgical church) the services vary a bit from one church to another. They will sing some songs, pray some prayers, read some scriptures. Then the preacher will talk about the reading. Then they will sing some more songs.
After the service they will probably have "fellowship", which is when you go to another part of the building or to another building on the property and have coffee and juice and cookies and doughnuts, and talk with the other parishoners and get to know people. You will probably also get a chance to meet with the pastor.
Don't worry. It's not scarey. Just do what everybody else is doing and try to follow along. After a few times you will get the hang of it.

Take your Bible for sure; many churches today have the verses on an overhead or powerpoint, but it's always a good idea to follow along in your own Bible. It will also help you get familiar with where things are in the Bible. Baptist churches do vary in the kind of services they have, depending on whether they are more conservative or more contemporary. But in general there would normally be some singing of hymns or choruses, an offering, announcements and a sermon. You should be able to fit in easily, hope you have a wonderful experience.

Bring the Bible. it might not be the same version that the pastor uses but it is a good idea to read the passages on which the sermon will be given. it will help you understand the context behind the message. remember "you" is the formal, thee thy thou etc. are the informal in the english language.
Every church is different, even within the same denomination, so you should try out a few churches to see what you like and find a church that you think is fun and that you feel you can get actively involved in.
I went to a southern baptist church until I was 6 years old then we moved to a Presbytarian Church of America, i have been there for16 years.

Congratulations on you first Bible. The King James Version is absolutely wonderful. And, Yes---take your Bible to church with you. The Bible is the Word of God, your "text" book.
I taught my Junior High Sunday School Class this little ditty:
B- Basic
I - Instructions
B - Before
L - Leaving
E - Earth
So, take your instruction manual with you always. Gods word will help you understand, will support you, encourage you, and bring you answers when you are being tempted. We have to live in the world, but we don't have to be "OF" the world.
What can you expect to happen at church? I pray that you are just filled with so much joy that you can hardly contain yourself. I believe you can expect people to welcome you whole heartedly. When you tell the "greeter" at the door that you are a new Christian and shake their hand, I believe and pray that you will feel you're "home" and that you are a part of a wonderful family.
I believe you can expect to be welcomed immediately as a brother in Christ, and that you will feel the Holy Spirit moving in that place. When two or more are gathered together, I will be there among them, Christ promised us. I believe you can expect to be fed in the Word, fed in fellowship, and filled with the grace of God.
I am so happy for you. What a wonderful day! Have you been baptized yet? Have you gone forward and asked the pastor to make you a member of this church? Believe me, once you feel led by the Holy Spirit to join a home church, you will feel a great burden lifted off of your shoulders. Truly.
Welcome to the Family of God, Brother!
Your Sister in Christ, Katherine Montoya

Depends on the church, but, by all means, yes, take your Bible. The King James version is a perfectly fine Bible and should be held in regard at any body of believers.
What should happen at church? Singing, praying, sermonizing and fellowship!
Have a great time and come back and tell me all about it!
May God bless your journey!

Yes, bring your bible, and probably something to write with. Most churches hand out bulletins and things to write on during the sermon so you can write notes. You can probably expect a worship service where they sing first, maybe have the lyrics on a powerpoint or in a hymnal and then a sermon.
You should talk to the pastor probably, try to get involved in a small group Bible study, its really important to get in with a group of people who can help support you. Also, if you haven't read the Bible before, you might want to think about getting an NIV version, it is in modern English and slightly more paraphrased making it easier to understand. After you've mastered that, you can move up to KJV or NASB (the most literal version next to interlinear)!
Much love.

It sounds similar to a church I went to for a while... Baptist churches are usually ok with using the King James Version so you should be ok to bring it... Don't be afraid to use another version if you find the KJV a little difficult to understand... I like using the New International Version (NIV)
Just be yourself... let others know that you are a new Christian... They should welcome you with open arms...
There will be music, offering (you shouldn't need to worry about giving anything for a while), and a message from the pastor.
I hope its a good experience for you. Welcom to the family!

Take the Bible. You should also get saved and get baptised. To get saved just go to the pastor and tell him you would like to be saved. Then you get baptised when you feel comfortable. Finally you ask to be a member of the church. You then start paying tithes, 10 percent of your income every month or week. Nothing weird will happen . Go in and find a pew. Then you will sind some hymns and pray. Then you will have the sermon and sing again and then pray and be dismissed. You need not to worry.

Yes , you'll need your Bible, you should get Bible tabs from a Christian book store. You'll be asked to turn to scripture. Many things happen, but be at peace there's not much expected of you. One day you may want to testify how our Lord found you. There should be an adult Sunday school before service as well as for children.
As it is written. You will learn what happened , this is the milk of the word, but as you grow and start to put on the Armour of God, You will need Meat. You're at a very enjoyable stage. enjoy.
