to the vet? Most of you "bird specialists" who said it would die from the pain and/or starvation, guess what? Its broken leg is now healed. I'm never going to take your advice again...never!

I'm glad your bird is better, and you were able to weed through all the non-helpful responses.

Hopefully you have learned a couple of lessons then, not everyone here gives the correct answers. You have to use good judgment and common sense. To take to heart that what everyone says here is the truth can cause you grief. But did you know that when some birds get hurt that they can go into shock? and it is the shock that will make them die faster then the injury? Did you also know that a Parakeet is a very fragile bird and it don't take much to cause the bird to have a heart attack and be dead before it hits the floor of the cage? If you didn't know that answers to my questions then I would suggest that if you are going to own a pet bird, do your research and learn about them. Also if you can not afford a Vet bill then you shouldn't own a Pet of any kind.
I am not trying to be rude or cruel, but think of how your bird was feeling with the broken leg, I am sure it would have been much happier if it had received medical attention. And to not give your pet medical attention when there is an injury or illness is called

If you cannot afford to take your pets to the Doctor, you shouldnt have them. I bet you would have found the money if you had been your leg that broke-
It is cruel to not provide medical attention to animals you have taken over responsibility of when you know it surely must be in pain.

Uhh..the time you took to type this message you could have spent some time with your bird.
How do you know your bird is fully better...if you broke a leg..and healed..don't you make frequent visits to keep a eye on the healing wound! DUh.! Get up off you *** and take your bird to a vet..***.
