Many Christian "religions" use the King James Version of the Bible. To name just two, Baptists, Evangelical Free. Just remember that it is a translation of the original text. There are other very good translations of the Bible, like The New King James, The New International and the New American Standard, to name three.

The King James version is a good translation, but it was the language used by people many, many years ago. The English language has evolved, and other versions are probably easier to read and understand now.

Most of Protestantism used the King James, even if they were aware of the mistakes in the translation.

Other versions used by Protestants are:

New American Standard Bible
New International Version
New King James
Revised Standard Version
and others.

The religion of Holiness. There is no christianity or form or denomination written in the bible. It is those who are holy unto the Lord that follow not the King James version, but the laws and the commandments that are written in the King James version. In
DUETERONOMY 26:18,19
18) And the Lord had avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;
19) And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour, and that thou mayest be an Holy people unto the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken.

1 PETER 2:9
9) But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an Holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.

See when you become Holy; There is a total 360 degree change about you. You are no longer a part of the ways of the world. Now if you need to know what the ways of the world are E- mail me at bible_god_holy@yahoo.com
One thing you must understand is, that when a true man of God is called to bring a message; The message is not going to be what you want to hear. The message is going to be what you do not want to hear. Message #1: You have two choices in this world
#1 Either you are going to serve God or
#2 Either you are going to serve the Devil.
YOUR CHOICE.
St. MATTHEW 6:24
24) NO MAN can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. YE CANNOT SERVE GOD AND mammom.
I pray for you. Amen

The short answer to your question is English speaking Christian-based religions use the King James Bible as the book on which to form creeds and doctrine. The history of the Bible is quite interesting, and rich. Here's a link that is a good place to start if you want to know about the King James Bible.

The bible is the source of revealed information about God and everything else. For the Christian, it is the word of God spoken by the prophets.

There are many versions of the bible, King James is the one authorized by King James. www.biblegateway.com will have other version.

The original manuscripts were in Hebrew and Greek. Translating Hebrew and Greek is not word for word since Hebrew and Greek many have more the one English word. In www.scripture4all.org you will see an interlinear text for both.

If you are interesting in Christianity, there are many able ministers to help you. You just need to ask. If you can not find anyone, then e-mail me and I will help you find someone.

If you happen to find a bible, look to Psalm 23. This is why we have ministers.

In answer to your questions: Religions do not follow versions of the Bible but the teaching of the bible.

Most of the Christian denominations and sects in the world can be sorted into five segments or branches: Roman Catholicism,
Eastern Orthodoxy,
Oriental Orthodox and Assyrian Churches,
Protestantism

Unfortunately, there is no consensus about which faith groups should be embraced by the term "Protestantism:" Some theologians split out the Anglican Communion from Protestantism.
Others consider Pentecostalism to be separate from Protestantism.
Others separate the European Free-Church Family out as a separate group.

Holiness, Pentecostals and Baptists to name a few use the KJV bible. I am an Agnostic and prefer the KJV to other versions because the music in the prose of the text seems far more enjoyable a read. It feels as if I were reading Shakespeare.

protestant, usually conservative fundamentalists, like the Baptists follow it.

KJV has gotten a bad name. It's not that hard to understand, and, because of the way it was translated, is much more faithful to the original texts than most "modern" versions. In the effort to "simplify" the Bible, so-called "scholars" have also "simplified" and compromised the basic doctrines.
