Hey, I live close to Huebner in the Leon Valley area. Unfortunately, I'm in the process of looking for an apartment, so getting a cat right now wouldn't be good, but just thought it was cool that you lived so close.

at 6 weeks old the kitten isn't ready to leave its mother
cats who are given a vital extra 2 or 3 weeks with their mother often do better in the long run
and if i lived nearer to you i would offer to have that kitten as we are looking for one

Animals given away for free can, and unfortunately often do, meet gruesome fates. He confessed to taking his kids with him when responding to the ads so that people would be comfortable turning animals over to him. People known as "bunchers," who obtain animals illegally from random sources to sell to research facilities for profit, often acquire animals by answering "free to a good home" ads. Small animals advertised as "free to a good home" are sometimes acquired by individuals who intend to use them as bait in training other animals to fight. Gerbils, hamsters, and young kittens are often acquired to be used as snake food.

there was a guy who walked into a shelter looking for free kittens to feed to his alligator! >.> And there's another guy who moves from state to state, picking up free animals (especially cats) and abuses them, then kills them.

make sure you give it to someone that really wants it some people get free animals to test on them
