I went online to find out more about the soreness of my thumb and saw that it could be trigger thumb or DeQuervain's disease. I cannot bend my thumb, and also I believe the tendons are inflammed.

Usually you can bend it --or straighten it-- but it resists, then "pops" and suddenly breaks free. That's why it is called a "trigger" finger (or thumb).

I had it once and had an injection then it was fine. Some people end up having to have surgery. If it is a mild case it could just get better with rest and anti-inflammatory medications (like Motrin or Aleve).

There is only one know cure for trigger thumb... Kissing... Find a guy and kiss until you pass out.

When you awake... Soak the thumb in hot water - 2 weeks. If the thumbe still hurts... go to the Doc.

In the end the kissing works.... the rest of the steps are just to make you feel better.

I broke my thumb once and ripped out all the nerves, but I don't suppose that is the same thing...

If you think it is inflammed use ice and no heat (I suffer from tendonitis, heat is not your friend). Peppermint oil can give some relief too, rub it into your thumb. It has a great cooling effect.

If you think it is serious, you should see a doctor.

You are asking the wrong people. You need medical attention.
