I think that their not so much against them as much as they have concern over the anorexic's health or don't understand the disorder.
I say this because I am one of the few clinically dismorphic people in the US. Like anorexics, I obsess over my appearance, however, I am addicted to eye surgeries, botox and have been hospitalized for attempting to alter my appearance by cutting my self and plucking every hair off my body for days...
Many people don't understand my irrational behavior because I am a generally attractive person and my friends and family become concerned and anticipate my next fit.
Anyhow, you are right, people can't help that their anorexic, but generally, like me who is never "symmetric enough", an anorexic is never "Skinny Enough" no matter how skinny they get. Anorexics have been known to starve themselves to death and before the disorder has affected them, they were thin and beautiful already...

What you are on outside DOES matter. Overweight or underweight, it puts body under great strain. Either way, for whatever reason, a course of action is to correct it. The biggest beneficiary is the person who is overweight or underweight. It's not for anybody else but for themselves.
Saying it's OK or making laws to prevent discrimination does not solve the problem itself - it just treats one aspect of the problem. If it is a medical problem - treat it. If it is a mental problem - work on it. If it is a self-restraint issue - well... work on it.
All you can do is, do the best you can do and for the rest, seek help. There is no shame in this. It is time to stop making 'feel-good' rules and actually attack the problem itself.
Ask-er, yes, a lot of people stereotype. It's a form of discrimination. People discriminate for all kinds of unreasonable reasons. Ignorance, self-pity, envy, ego, and need to feel superior comes to mind.

why do people treat people with eating disorders differently? Because they are killing them selves. How would you treat a person who had their bones sticking out of them. Or when u see a bulimic person throwing up after their meals to the point where they throw up blood? Would you treat them just like every body else or would you treat them differently?
I would treat them differently. Not meanly, just it would be kinda hard not to treat them the same as others. They want to be skinny. We are a shallow country. Where to the point of extreme beauty anyone normal is ugly. So i think people mostly girls, starve themselves because of the pressure to live up to that standard of beauty. Its ridiculous. If you want to lose weight do it the healthy way. Diet and exercises. Not anorexia and bulimia.
I myself have weight problems. But i don't starve myself or throw up food. I love food, why waste it?I think these girls maybe some boys who are practically just skin and bones. Either do this for attention or because they hate what they see in the mirror. I don't think many people can understand that, that is way they may treat them crudely. People are afraid, of people who are different. They will always be, don't know why. But that is just how it is.

Because it is a diesease. If you walked into someones house and they had a mentally challenged person who refused to eat.... you wouldnt treat them 100% the same as anyone else would you? Anorexia is a diesease that can be treated, as any other mental illness. If we didnt treat people with dieaseses any differently.. they would never get better would they? Also, its human nature to be scared of what is different than you... look at Israel....

Because they're ignorant about people with eating disorders. Trust me, when people find out I'm a recovering bulimic, things get weird.

Why could anybody take care of you any distinctive? you're nonetheless a individual. anybody has issues, some could properly be worse than others, even with the undeniable fact that it is going to never influence how one feels approximately anybody.

They simply do not understand the issue. It's no reflection on the person that is anorexic.

Lack of understanding, compassion, empathy. I don't think people are necessarily against them - its not healthy eaters versus eating disorders!
