I am up right now worried sick about my 13 week lab puppy who is spending his second night at the vet. She was perfect until Tuesday morning I woke up to the sound of her vomiting. I took her out of her crate and we went outside. Then I tried to feed her and give her water. She wouldn't touch her food ( Purina Puppy Chow for large breed dogs) or water. That is how I knew something was terribly wrong. We brought her to the emergency vet clinic and they gave her a shot for nausea, some medication, and a hydration patch. We got home and she continued to throw up three more times and seemed very lathargic, so we went to the vet again. They were worried because she had used her hydration patch really fast and the naussea medication should have helped. Anyway - They put her on an IV and she quit vomiting, but still wouldn't eat baby food. They ran a test to see if she has an obstruction blocking her digestion, but does not. So now, it is just a waiting game. I feel very helpless and afraid, but was also wondering if it was her food. The vet doesn't think so, since they are not on the list. She also had her second set of vaccinations last Thursday and I've seen that some puppies get sick from that. We don't think it is Parvo because she is not running a high fever and didn't have diarrhea. I have never had a puppy get this sick and was hoping to see some posts that sounded similar to mine and see what the outcomes were. I hope your dog is better and I hope mine gets well, but I am really thinking about changing her food - just out of fear I guess.
