People who live lifestyles of continuing evil arent real Christians (because a real Christian is a person who does her best to live in obedience to the teachings of Jesus Christ).

Regarding the items listed above...

1. True -- everyone falls short of the grace of God.

2. False -- a person has to truly and sincerely repent (not just say you're sorry) and commit their life to Christ to ultimately go to heaven.

3. True and False -- true in the sense that God knows we are inclined to sin. False in the sense that God does not condone our staying in sin. We are to commit our lives to Christ, and sincerely turn away from our sin... So God expects us to do our best to turn away from sin, rather than continuing to wallow in sin.

I'm so glad that I'm a Christian :)

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

For scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm

Cordially,
John

I have read the bible from start to end. I see a book full of words that don't mean nothing. Just another story book. Why would anyone want to read more then once let alone hang on each line of it?

What are you talking about? Everyone knows that if there is evil going on there is some church nut behind it.

Why does everyone keep saying HE when they talk about their god? I think that must be a man thing. When that king being a male was trying to get more money and gold and riches from the people of his land he came up with this scam. It even came with a book called the bible.

And to answer someone above. It is not just Christians. All religious groups are a little strange just some are more then others. Muslims just want to kill anyone who is white or don't believe in their god and Christians just want to scam people for their money and rape little boys in church. Bout the same to me.

Religion should be ban. It is evil. More people have died over some stupid god thing then anything else.

Because the Bible teaches two things you forgot to mention. The first is about counterfeit Christians. Tares are poisonous weeds that look just like wheat until it gets near harvest time.

Matthew 13:36 Then having dismissed the crowds, Jesus went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, "Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field." 37 He answered and said to them: "He that sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38 And the field is the world, and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the evil one. 39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. 40 Therefore just as the tares are gathered and burned with fire, thus it will be at the end of this age. 41 The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who work iniquity, 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!"

The second is that people who continue in a sinful lifestyle after having made a profession of faith are not true Christians.

1 John 3:6 Everyone who abides in Him does not sin; everyone who sins has not seen Him nor has he known Him. 7 Little children, let no one deceive you. The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. 8 He who practices sin is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this reason the Son of God appeared, that He might destroy the works of the devil. 9 No one who has been born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God. 10 By this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Everyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

As to your beling glad that you are an atheist, you seem to have some sort of hang up over the fact that a person can live a rotten life and be saved at the end. Does that come from some bad experience you went through in your past?

What you should understand is that God doesn't want anyone to go to hell. So he doesn't make a cut off point where He says "hmmm...lets see, Joe only stole a few things and told some lies and looked lustfully at women so I'm going to let him in but John did all of those things plus he got angry and hit his wife so he doesn't quite make it, off to hell with him".

If you are holding a grudge against someone who became a Christian or you are offended that someone else has been forgiven in comparison to someone that you thought was really a good person, then you need to let go of that and just be glad that even though you sit here and mock God, He will still forgive even you if you ask Him to.

Whoa. That's pretty loaded. I think that God expected you not to be perfect, but he didn't expect you to be evil. And christianity teaches that there are some sins that are unforgivable. I think killing 50,000 babies would probably go under that catergory.
Oh yeah, and really, I think being a true christian means that you follow christ, so obviously, if you do all that bad stuff, you're not exactly following him.
I hope you have a great day! :)

Why must athiest continue to bash christianity? At least, read the Bible, entirely, really study it, before posting stuff like this.

1. yes
2. no, you can't just say you're sorry, change your ways and go to Heaven. You have to really really mean it. You have to accept God into your heart, repent of your sins. This means, you really must know what you done was wrong, believe it was wrong ask forgiveness pray for forgiveness. And God can see into your heart and knows wether you mean it or are just saying it.
3. yes, he let Adam and Eve take care of that. but it is every man woman and teenagers choice to believe or not.

Next time do a lot more research before making a fool of yourself.

the bible says, "what say ye then do we make the law void through grace?"

#2 saying sorry is not the same as repent, and u cant fool God so if u ask for forgiveness and u dont mean it , its just as if u never said anything at all,

#3 everyone does fall short of the glory of god, that is why jesus died for us so taht we can simply accept his sacrifice and have eternal life,

#4 the bible sayd "There is none rigtheous, no not one"

"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God"

im not seein the significance to ur question?

Well, I for one am a Christian and I do not fit the stereotype that you suggest. For one, you are confusing "evil" and "sinner". I am a sinner. The devil is evil (see, it's even in his name). And yes, you are right in saying that no matter how many bad things you do in life, if you repent of them and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior you will still go to heaven. God does know that we will all sin and in that sense, He expects us to be "evil". He knows that there is no way we can possibly live up to His standards (the Commandments) which is why He sent Jesus to die for not only the sins of everyone living at the time, but also for all generations to come...

And think of some of the "evil" people today... who pops into mind? Terrorists? Saddam Hussein? Osama Bin Laden? Do any of them claim to be Christian? No, not really. And even if they did, that's good because if they accept Jesus and repent of their sins well, I'll see them in heaven.

Any religion started after a person has to have certain rules for survival depending on the situation prevailing at corresponding times. So there are certain things that we find absurd in the context of present world. But the persons belonging to those religions will never rectify this as then they will have to agree that it is not God's creation.
Only exception to this is Hinduism. Actually it is a way of life and not a religion. It is not started by any individual. Only thing objectionable in this way of life is cast system. But Hindus never killed enemies and raped their wives and women. It never ever tried to convert others into our fold. Hinduism preaches peace and fulfilment of all mankind irrespective of their faith.

Salvation & Christianity really is "a process rather than the one time I am sorry and I accept you as my Savior moment." It takes time to repent and for a heart to change. Christ was the final sacrifice on the alter for our sins. We are charged with a responsibility to change and improve, but under the law of justice--we will all fall short. Christ can step forward and redeem us because mercy can meet the demands of justice. Redeeming everyone without choice was Satan's plan, not His. We have our free agency to choose good or evil. Constantly choosing evil, means we are no longer following Him.

We all do bad things as it's human nature ... even an athiest can see that by reading the paper or turning on the news. If a God is without sin, then in a sense we are all short of him because we sin. If God loves us then part of loving us is accepting that we are sinful by nature and forgiving us. And yes, evil must be paid for by justice and if the evil is as bad as you say it is then the price paid must be very high.
