You know, this is a problem I've seen in a lot of people. It really depends on what you feel about it. Some people picture masturbation as a lustful sin.. if you think about it that way, and you feel that God looks down upon you and you feel guilty afterwards then yes, it is wrong. But, in another way, if you don't, and you look at it a different way, then it isn't. its just you're perspective on it. And also, Again, its how you look at the definition of a virgin. If you believe that a virgin is someone who has never had "intercorse" then yes, you would still be a virgin.. but if your definition of one is someone who hasn't had any type of sexual pleasure, then no, you would not.. See what I mean? Think about it for a while. You're character is who you are in the dark.

Masturbation is totally normal and it doesn't take away your virginity. Yes, your hymen could break, but that's no longer the only way to be a virgin. Does that make sense? Since the hymen can be broken SO easily...by riding a bike, riding a horse, using a tampon, etc...most virgins today don't have their hymens. So, yes, you're still a virgin if you masturbate. Besides, if you don't figure out what you like by yourself, how are you ever going to be able to tell your partner what will get you off?

Masturbation = good.

It releases dopamine in your brain which elevates your mood, it increases your heart rate and gives you a bit of a cardio-pulmonary work out, it exercises all of your glands and muscles in your vulva and vagina, making everything tighter, more well toned and keeping things functioning properly. It relieves cramps during menstruation. It teaches you about your body and how it works. I am sure that it does a lot of other great things as well.

If you don’t masturbate, you are depriving yourself of a LOT of benefits.

Masturbating effects our health in a variety of beneficial ways – not masturbating is what could be harmful.

Popping your cherry, or more accurately breaking your hymen can happen in a number of ways – most of which have absolutely nothing to do with sex.

The hymen is simply a bit of thin skin like material that partially covers your vaginal opening. If you rode a bike a lot as a kid, or fell off of a bike, rode horses, or any of a number of other activities, the thin membrane can be torn, or completely gone without anyone ever knowing about it. Some times it happens with tampon usage, or through masturbation.

In any case – yes, it is absolutely possible that you can “pop your own cherry” – but that doesn’t mean that you are not a virgin.

there is nothing wrong masturbating.

This is a natural part of life, that everyone does. I read somewhere, the average American male, will masturbate, 3 times a day !!!, So there is nothing wrong with it.

Masturbating does not mean your having sex, so therefore if your a virgin now, you will still be one , after having a masturbation .

It is wrong for anyone to masterbate. It is a perversion. And, no, you would not be a virgin if you were using something that required batteries.

Why would you consider yourself a "virgin," if you would make yourself filthy just for your own selfish desires. It's a sin. You can decide to not sin or you can decide to sin.

If you want to present to your future husband a woman who has virtually made dirty what should be presented as "clean" to your marriage---then go ahead. But you will also get the consequences of your actions. Selfish desires sometimes have to be denied. That's what separates us from the animals that just do whatever instinct tells them to do.

But we're not animals----and neither are you.

Masturbation is normal and if it keeps you from having sex before you are mature enough then that's smart on your part. You are still a virgin until a guy penetrates you.

Many consider it wrong because of their religious beliefs. In my opinion its a viable substitute for not having sex with another. You cannot become pregnant, catch a disease, or be violated by some unscrupulous male. As long as you don't break the hymen you will remain a virgin.
