Collaborate ideas and decide on a bright color theme where he choses one color and you chose another and they look good together (ex. lime and yellow!)
Some ideas for a dog theme:
Sponge different colors of paw prints on the wall.
Buy large dog stuffed animals for placing on top of shelves.
Get some large dog and Clifford The Big Red Dog picture books.
Stick large posters (look at Walmart for cheap ones) of puppies on the wall.

My Idea would be paint the room a pretty color something he can deal with and something she will like. Then incorporate the dog theme. Buy stuffed animal dogs and print pictures and frame them of dogs get some ribbon and decorate these dogs with the color that you chose for her room. That way when she grows out of the dog thing which will happen kids jump from things they like all the time, you can take the dogs away without having to take borders down or repaint the walls or even not having to worry about ripping down wall paper. Whats her favorite color? jump with that let your fiancee and your daughter do it together so that he can see how much she likes it and then he wont have any other choice then to deal with what she and you choices. Just my Idea good luck with that.

I think parents sometimes go overboard with their kids' rooms, as far as murals and things go. Maybe paint the room in a colour you both like and then add some decorations that fall under the dog theme. Someone suggested Lady and the Tramp, you could hang a poster of them and add some stuffed toy dogs on a shelf. Snoopy is another idea. I think it can be hard for a child to concentrate and calm down if a room is a little over the top with something. Try to make it relaxing, but still with a few of the things she likes. It makes those things more special instead of just overloading the child's senses with imagery.

I would say just decorate it inexpensively with maybe wall stickers or with a removable border in something she likes. Dont go overboard because kids change what they like all the time. I would definantly decorate it the way your daughter would like it because it is HER room. Dont let your fiancee try to mold your child into something he wants her to be or thinks she should be. Everyone is their own person and has their own tastes. It is okay to share you ideas and what you like with other people but not to try to force them to like it too.

I would compromise. Look in a decorating book and get some tips and ideas. Let your little girl help if she is old enough.
What is your little girls favorite color whatever it is try to get a light color to paint her room in. Its really not hard to find something that both parents like.
I will look up some stuff for you and email you with it.

I would suggest Blue's Clues with Magenta one of her ( yes blue is actually a girl!) friends. My little girl loves puppies as well and loves the decor of this.

It needs to be something she is interested in since she will be spending quite a lot of time there..I think a good theme for it would be the 101 dalmations if she likes them..

Go with what she likes..
Why does he care if he likes it? it's the little girls room not his!
If she likes puppies, puppies it is!
I dont know if they still make them but back in the day they had "pound puppies" stuff..
