Zero, unless they stood in line and got their green cards like all of the other law abiding immigrant workers in the US. If they follow the rules, learn English, and get themselves assimilated, they are welcome. Bring us your tired and weary, your huddled masses ... those aliens probably have some cool technology they can share with us.

2006-10 just to see what we get
2007 - 50 again just rasing the bar a little
2008 - 250 seems like we should be able to handle this amount
2009 - 1500 We are off and running with a huge amount
I think the number would just keep going up and we in turn would be learning from space aliens that we would then venture more and more out into space

I'd Limit it to ONE NUKE per Space craft And Add more only as needed to make them bastards Glow in the Dark and burn to a Nice Crisp at Three thousand degrees.

immigration category? you're insane. I'd rather limit the times you could communicate with other human beings per year. I'd set it at around 2.

Bush wouldn't let them land. Instantly, he'd have a brand new
immigration law forbiding them to access the earth.
It would totally be what "God told him to do".
The next thing he'd do, is point all our nukes at them & get
out his bullhorn & start threatening them with laws he'd
impose on them. Or threaten to make them do jobs,
Americans refuse to do.
Their women would be denied abortions - yet forbidden to
make more aliens.
The Republicans would be calling them retards & mentally ill,
even thou they crossed galaxies to get here.
It would turn out to be just another Vietnam or do I mean Iraq?
